“There are always flowers for those who want to see them.”~ Henri Matisse. I took this photo last summer.
My neighbourhood, cool green place at sundown to rest and restore.
It's a very large area approved for strychnine use. Just disgusted with this. #Alberta
#Calgary mural artist here. This one is 9 ft x 13 ft. Hard to show in a photo, the size. Available for indoor or outdoor projects. Take a look at some of my other works. The sky's the limit. www.deborah-robinson.com/fine-art/gal...
This really applies to numerous things these days. Maybe end stage capitalism too. “Enshittification” is Cory Doctorow's word to describe the decay of online tech platforms. It captures the feeling of a world that is ever worsening. It's not a glitch, but a feature. Portrait in gouache by me.
Stolen meme alert, but I couldn't resist. LOL.
Some samples of my artwork. Landscapes, and abstracts. Unfolding, Light & Shadow, Golden Meadow, Serene River, Bridge over Creek, Reflections, trees, rocks and water, Water's Edge, rocks in foreground, trees, and river, Pathways, and Prism's edge. #artforsale
“Unfolding,” an acrylic on paper, 9 inch (ca. 23 cm) x 12 inch (ca. 30 cm) that explores the tension between texture and structure. This piece reflects an exploration of natural forces in balance—both fluid and controlled—and I hope it offers a moment to pause and engage with that dynamic. #Art
Tell me, which one looks better to you? After doing this mixed media art piece & noticed it could be hung either way. I will let you know which is which. No title for now. #abstractart
#AbstractArt “Pathways,” 11 by 14-inch work on paper, exploring the tension between order & fluidity. With this piece, I wanted to capture an energetic balance, like navigating a journey where clear directions and unexpected turns coexist. Structure & spontaneity.
New acrylic on paper. “Chromatic Flux”11 inches x 14 inches #calgary #abstractart
Don Lemon, independent journalist, formerly a CNN anchor, has been arrested. Unacceptable! You guys better not be working or shopping down there in the USA today. #generalstsrike Serious business when they ignore the first amendment.
New #MURAL I just finished for a client's yoga and meditation room and includes elements important to her. It's 9 feet (2.74 m) by 14 feet (4.27 m). Tree of Life with Celtic knots, interwoven with vines & flowers. It balances elements of nature & fantasy in a serene, dreamlike landscape.
I took this picture on Boxing Day a few years ago. They watched me, but didn't run away. It was very cold. #calgary
Happy New Year, friends! May all your wishes be realized. Let's make 2026 the best year ever.
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 24 “Spectrum” Something different to finish off with. I did this 11 × 14 (in) mixed media/on paper and animated it. Experimenting allowed me to grow as an artist this year. Intending on more of the same for 2026. Thanks for all the likes & reposts and for supporting the arts.
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 23 “Chaos.” layered paint/paper 11 by 14 (in), an exploration of vibrant energy and layered complexity. I wanted to capture the feeling of spontaneous creativity—a vivid, intense rhythm that invites you to get lost in its depth and movement. #AbstractArt
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 22 “Quan Yin,” acrylic/canvas 18 × 24 (in.) centres on the figure of the goddess of compassion, standing quietly in a natural setting. The story of “Quan Yin,” tells us she will walk the earth until all sentient beings are freed from suffering and achieve enlightenment.
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 21 Happy Solstice everyone. Acrylic/canvas 20 × 24 (in.) the dark silhouette of a twisted, bare tree whose trunk takes the shape of a woman, transmuting the energy, with gnarled branches reaching. A tension, both intense & unsettling, comes as we transmute energy.
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 20 “Pulse”, 11 × 14 (in.) With “Pulse,” I aimed to capture a dynamic moment—something electric and alive—that keeps shifting beneath the surface.
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 19 “Authenticity.” 11 × 14 (in.) mixed media/paper. Exploring the energy that comes from bold, spontaneous brushstrokes. Layers of texture build a sense of depth and movement, dynamic & engaging. Emotional presence—a balance between control and freedom.
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 18 Collage, “Music of the Trees”, mixed media on paper, 9 inches (ca. 23 cm) x 12 inches (ca. 30 cm)
Something a little different for #ArtAdventCalendar Day 17 “Echoes,” an 11 by 14-inch mixed media work that explores the interplay between chaos and order.
