The killing of Joan Sebastian Guerrero by ICE is not an isolated event. It is a pattern we have seen in communities across the country where militarized federal agents rip away fathers, mothers, neighbors, & loved ones. It will continue until real changes are made. That's why we need to ABOLISH ICE.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a father of three and beloved community member, was shot and killed by ICE while on his way to work. He should be alive. He should be home with his children.   I am holding Lorenzo’s family close today, and mourning with everyone who loved him.

I toured the Multnomah County Elections Office, where I saw firsthand how seriously Oregon takes election security. The ballots you cast are secure, verified, and efficiently counted.

Today we honor Juneteenth, which marks the day Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to enforce the nationwide emancipation of Black Americans. This Juneteenth, we are celebrating Black resilience and joy.

I was honored to celebrate with the Jefferson High School community as ground was broken on this historic, overdue, and critically important investment in our youth and our community.

This administration has treated children with disgusting cruelty and callousness. After seeing it up close, I had to take action.

I've seen firsthand how Trump's immigration policies are traumatizing children, all funded by our tax dollars.

Today, Trump and Republicans want to send $70 billion *MORE* of your tax dollars to DHS. I will be voting HELL NO, and I urge Republicans to do the same. We must not only defund ICE but dismantle and abolish it. It’s time to end the chaos and cruelty.

Oregonians deserve a Forest Service that has the resources it needs to keep our communities and public lands safe.

Our veterans deserve to get the best support our federal government can offer. Mental health and substance use care. Cancer screening and treatments. Housing. Our veterans put their lives on the line to serve, understanding we would have their and their family’s back.

One example of how the administration isn't reflecting your values? The Reflecting Pool, which Trump is spending $13.1 million to repaint—instead of doing a thing to lower costs for working families.

Connecting with the engaged students at Reynolds High School was a highlight of my week. Hearing their questions and their concern for insufficient investment in people, public safety, and education underlined for me how critical it is that we must increase investment in Oregon’s youth.

HUGE WIN: Democrats forced a vote to end the war in Iran and WON. This brings us one step closer to ending this illegal war and lowering costs at home. As it heads to the Senate, we will continue to keep the pressure up. Stay loud.

I went to a refugee relocation facility in San Benito, Texas, that is being used to isolate pregnant children, to conduct oversight and check on their welfare—but when I went, I wasn’t allowed to see a single child. What is the federal government hiding?

The Oregon Acoustic Research Laboratory will be the first facility of its kind in North America. I’m proud to support a project that is sure to bring family-wage jobs to the region, strengthening our economy and housing industry.
