My office orchid (left to me by a colleague who worked in our famous Plant Sciences department, no pressure) is blooming!

A cluttered desk by a window contains a mid-sized potted orchid. Its leaves are stiff and glossy, and purple buds are reaching toward the window. One flower has bloomed so far.

I'm not usually a ring person, but I am IN LOVE with this spinner ring I got from @peculiarityshop.bsky.social I tried very hard to get a good video of it spinning but I am not coordinated enough, just know it is magical and will get me through many meetings that should have been emails.

Catching Up with #RePostYourArt Challenge Day 3, Spring. A chunky, bulbous bud vase I made last year. The glaze, called Mary's Red, didn't turn out the way I hoped, but a friend of mine claimed this after seeing it on my Insta:

A thick, round, vase with a slightly tapered top. It isn't perfectly smooth, so light glances off of the areas where crafty fingers hollowed out the vessel. The glaze is frosted magenta, that fades to a grey toward the top of the vase.

Spending my day horizontal because yesterday we spent all afternoon at Sylvan Heights Bird Park in Scotland Neck, NC. They do amazing conservation work with exotic species and I got some up close time with this gorgeous Roseate Spoonbill!

This is the sticker on my car, that I almost didn't purchase because Raleigh reddit is so mean. BUT it has significantly reduced incidents of "oh god someone honked at me they must be about to hit me, I must swerve" 😅

My piggies aren't trained, but I keep litter boxes in their most common poop corners. Without fail, they love eating from the litterbox. 🙄 Approached the cage to clean and caught them sharing it (!!) like a box of popcorn. #GuineaPigSky
