Just back from few days away Torquay. Managed to catch England DRC game in Paignton, absolutely amazing atmosphere & peeps! No agro, even when 1 nil down. Police & Bouncers polite & on point. This is very good from Labour. Specifically an Governing body looking into Private equity causing problems, and could open routes to other Private Equity interests in wider public services such as Elderly Social care in which they are destroying council budgets also being looked at👍

The FTSE 100 company, which has more than 800
Premier Inn hotels in the UK, has been under pressure from American activist investor Corvex, a New York-based hedge fund, to rethink its business strategy.
The hedge fund said in December it had taken a 6.05% stake in Whitbread, making it the company's second biggest single shareholder. It said at the time Whitbread's share price undervalued some of its assets, including its UK portfolio of leasehold properties.

The move will involve Whitbread selling and leasing back £1.5bn of its freehold properties.
Unusually for the hotel sector, the company owns a significant proportion of its hotels, although it said it now intended to "recycle" £1.5bn to "fund future growth" and would increasingly hope to lease its hotels.

Friday's meeting almost didn't take place after the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA) threatened to pull out of the talks with Ms Reeves and Energy Secretary
Ed Miliband.
It claimed the Government's 'inflammatory language' over fuel prices - in which ministers waned against
'price gouging' - had led to abuse of forecourt staff.
At the meeting, Ms Reeves thanked the petrol bosses for their co-operation, but told them she wanted an
'open and frank conversation' with them.
'We have concerns around the high prices and we do have a shared obligation,' she said.
Mr Miliband warned bosses from forecourt operators and firms including Asda, BP, ExxonMobil and Shell that the Government would not tolerate 'unfair practices'
