Oh, look. The union negotiating committee wants input on matters that need attention in our collective agreement. Wish me luck, (and stand by for requests for relevant studies and citations, please).

I'm not certain which articles may apply, but with the ongoing SAR-CoV-2 pandemic, and other potential diseases like H5N1 on the horizon it will be important to negotiate and codify an understanding on work-from-home practices so that they can be fairly applied across the membership and not left to managerial whims and attitudes.

I do not have any specific suggestions but until WorkSafeNB regulations catch up with the times it's important that we have some say in how best to protect our students, our colleagues, and ourselves.

I realize this is a university-wide issue and not pertinent to only our membership and as such will prove difficult to incorporate into out collective agreement. However it needs to be addressed formally especially now that the university has abandoned all promotion and education concerning effective mitigation strategies.
