Excellent haul from the local carboot/ antique shops in Molesey. Two old Victor Annuals for £2. One of the few things I collect. A cap Badge from the LIverpool Scottish - my Grandad’s Battalion - for £10. And an Art Deco Clock with very satisfying tick and chime for £15. Bargains all round.
Only one way to deal with the Summer flies. Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds. Lord of the flies. I ride a Pale Ale more than a pale horse. And my backhand is coming on a treat.
After 6 years of working from the Sofa. I finally have an office. So I actually get to put up all my Evertonia.
Might mean Argentina actually might need to try shooting at some point now. Not a single one so far.
Wife’s in the new place with the cats. One 💩 in the car and one still mostly hiding 😂 I’m at the old place with the entire house packed. We have far too much stuff. Mostly books. Movers are getting tipped well.
Exchanged!!!!!!! Finally! Now to figure out exactly which of these 7 pubs is going to be my local. All within 150m…..
Oooh. This is my OCD. Wasted a good five minutes on Bristol but then figured could be Menai Bridge. You’re here at the Antelope Inn.
Day drinking with books is a fine way to spend a Saturday. Finally finishing the Moscow trilogy and Mrs Jones is sating her girl crush on Grace Dent.
And offer accepted. 👏 It’s the prettiest of pretty houses. And it will 100% be getting a sign saying ‘The Blue House’ with the Everton tower on it.
Home. On sofa surrounded the cats actually being attentive for once. And we got our Mortgage AIP through on the drive home so get to view some places this weekend - favouring Walton on Thames - mainly due to this pub scoring and density and the Everton linked name. 😂
Today was a very good day. Not only did I finally see the fossilised Viking turd I also bought a replica Lewes chess piece that will take pride of place on my curio shelf. And only 6 books to add to the unread pile.
Thankful to have reached the point after my Mum’s passing where the thought of her makes me smile for her life rather than cry for her loss. But still the odd bottom lip wobble today nonetheless.
Rich make fire. Fire good. Fire make space in garden. Fire good for soil. Grunts.
Ha. I’ve this on chill for FT. But seriously United aren’t all that special. But we’ll see.
18 years ago yesterday I met the Manager of the Hemel Hempstead branch of The Works for a lunchtime coffee. We talked about cats, books, retail and being northern down south. Still doing pretty much the same today. Love you Luppers.
Turns out Wools, like Kopites, are indeed manufactured. @brianwoolfinder.bsky.social
Pretty much the only side we could have put out with a wafer thin, injury and AFCON depleted squad. Only one outfield player with ANY PL experience on the bench. But at least it’s fairly balanced, and square pegs in square holes for once. UTFT.
Picked up the complete original Battlestar Galactica a few months ago from a charity shop and completely forgot about it. So that’s this weekend sorted.
Delighted to announce I’m the 2025 Lupton Jones Daily quiz champion for the second year running. It’s important to ‘win well’ so I’d just like to thank my opponent and to publically state that she’s a a massive loser who is obviously inferior to me in all aspects. In your face Luppers.
Home. And a Christmas Dickens Ghost story on the T … ‘Hello down there’ @scarredforlife.bsky.social
