284. May I Have a Taste?, Vol. 2 - licensed - After Yamadera's stunt causes Sayo to get hit by a train, the vampire loses control of his bloodlust and puts Yamadera in the hospital. I don't know how this isn't actually a BL, because it's just pure, uncut sexual tension. I like the new vampires, too.
283. Firefly Wedding, Vol. 7 - licensed - Satoko and Shinpei sneak away from a celebration party, and she learns more about his past by walking around the island with him. Afterwards, she makes her feelings for him clear, and they plan for their happy future. And, well, it's not that kind of story.
282. Honey Bee & Lemon Balm, Vol. 2 - licensed - Kaoru tries to step up and tell Yuichiro how he feels, but the florist stops him. He can't nurse his hurt feelings for long, though, as his old yakuza boss catches up with him and makes a mess. It's a bit too neat and sweet, but it scratches an itch.
281. Mars, Vol. 13 - licensed - We look back at the past in this volume, as Kira talks to Rei's dad, and Rei talks to the family doctor, to reveal the story of Rei's troubled mother and the real reason she died. Of course she didn't simply die of cancer. That's not the kind of story this is.
280. Love Only the Body Omnibus - licensed - A doujinshi collection following a stern but fair manager who scares her coworkers, and a nice, pretty new hire everyone likes, who accidentally run into each other outside a lesbian bar. An unusual combo of horny and closed door, but I really enjoyed it.
279. Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent, Vol. 7 - licensed - The school festival draws to a close, and Momose figures she's seen the last of Yachiyo since she turned down his love confession, but then his friend Yataro asks the club to help him with a girl he likes. Poor sweet, naive Yataro.
278. Marriage to the Wolf: An Interspecies Union, Vol. 1 - licensed - As his village struggles after a bad harvest, a young rabbit man is sent to marry a rich wolf man in exchange for food for the village. It needed to either be trashier/smuttier, or stop molesting the intoxicated main character.
277. Tales of the Tendo Family, Vol. 7 - licensed - Ran rejoins Masato at the Tendo estate, and works hard to learn to play the koto before a meeting with Masato's eccentric aunt. However, during the meeting, Ran lets impulse get the best of her. It's 100% in character, but what a dumb move.
276. You Can't Live All on Your Own!, Vol. 3 - licensed - In the final volume, the friends go their separate ways: Misaki marries a man who truly loves her, Eika takes a transfer to the north, Shuko moves in with a man platonically, and Shio sets out to travel the world. There's no one correct path.
275. The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess, Vol. 5 - licensed - Iana et al head to Ginoford's family manor to get his old friend to help Yomi heal. Unfortunately, the guy triggers a messy event in the story, and Iana really wants to avoid it. I'm having fun, but the art can be hard to read
274. Spacewalking With You, Vol. 3 - licensed - Kobayashi is left philosophical about life after visiting a planetarium with the astronomy club, and Uno fights with his overprotective older sister at a summer festival. I love how the story handles neurodivergence, but I would like more of Uno's POV.
273. The Titan's Bride, Vol. 6 - licensed - As Koichi works to hatch the featherling egg he's been put in charge of as a test to marry Caius, Baro goes undercover to investigate a beastman conspiracy to kill him and the egg. As usual, the political intrigue is interspersed with plenty of sex scenes.
272. Mr. Villain's Day Off, Vol. 6 - licensed - The General stops by the zoo to charge his panda battery before a long week, the tree spirits witness teenage heartbreak, Rooney falls under the kotatsu's spell, and the rangers celebrate children's day. Another relaxing volume of world domination.
271. Mars, Vol. 12 - licensed - After Rei bows his head to his father and Kira's mother, the young couple move into his father's spacious mansion, where the secrets of the past lie behind closed doors. There isn't a single good parent in this story, but Rei's dad feels like one of the least bad ones
270. Afternoon Tea for Two - licensed - This trio of doujinshi chapters follows the daily life of a first year confectioners school student and the refined but clumsy woman she lives with in Tokyo. Together they share meals and relax with a cup of tea. Perfectly pleasant, but a bit aimless.
269. Blue Summer Haze, Vol. 1 - licensed - Makoto was devastated when his best friend and batterymate moved away after middle school, but when he suddenly transfers back in their third year of high school, his new catcher doesn't intend to hand him over quietly. This is the good stuff. The yearning!
268. The Credits Roll into the Sea, Vol. 1 - licensed - Recently widowed, Umiko decides to go to the movie theater for the first time in years, where she meets a young art student who inspires her to start making movies at 65 years old. This is every bit as good as I hoped. Great characters.
267. Matcha Made in Heaven, Vol. 14 - licensed - Chako and Isshin enjoy a night alone at a nice ryokan after an exhausting event, but the morning afterglow is spoiled by Isshin's mother calling to insist they have a meet the family party before they marry. A fun volume with some surprising reveals.
266. My Solo Exchange Diary, Vol. 2 - licensed - Kabi talks about meeting up with friends, struggling with living on her own, trying to start a new manga, realizing her family does actually love her, drinking too much, and getting hospitalized. There isn't a neat dramatic arc to her messy life.
265. The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess, Vol. 4 - licensed - Iana and crew head to a lakeside villa to relax, but things quickly get out of hand when they come across an injured elf nearby. After four volumes of defusing arcs Iana remembers writing, a new antagonist force appears.
264. April Showers Bring May Flowers, Vol. 5 - licensed - A new girl transfers into Tabata's class, and her familiar tone with Ueno and Gotanda piques her interest. Next up is the school festival, where Ueno realizes some things about Tabata and Uguisudani. This does a great job managing the cast.
263. Double the Trouble, Twice as Nice, Vol. 3 - licensed - Ren and Yuri see some documents showing that the company is on the verge of bankruptcy, leading him to make some bold plans for the future. Lol forever at the idea of a mom and pop pharmaceutical company, but go get 'em Ren.
262. He Craves to be Teased by His Favorite ASMR Streamer, Vol. 2 - licensed - Minami is now dating his favorite streamer, but he still listens to every stream Karasuma does, and notices how his boyfriend is becoming more confident. It's just not as hot as it should be for the amount of sex scenes.
261. Mars, Vol. 11 - licensed - Two months have passed since Kira left home to live with Rei, and he decides to drop out of school to devote himself to racing. Before he can do that, though, Kira's stepfather forces them into a corner. Honestly thought we were going to get our first murder here.
260. Yuri Life - licensed - A collection of 11 short manga about a variety of different yuri couples, mostly working women in their twenties. They're not really short stories, they're one-page vignettes gathered into chapters, and range from kinda cute to straight up corny.
259. What If I Said, "I Love You"?, Vol. 1 - licensed - Kazuho and Tokio have been best friends since elementary school, but over time, Kazuho's feelings have turned romantic. I loved the details in this: testing how much touch you can get away with, noticing when others think they're too close, etc
258. Remnant: The Beastmen Omegaverse Saga, Vol. 1 - licensed - An orphaned teenage omega selling himself on the street to make enough money to flee the church orphanage with his sister has his plans derailed when he bonds with a beastman. Clunky exposition, and very tropey, but a good popcorn read.
257. Fall In Love, You False Angels, Vol. 5 - licensed - Otogi goes to visit her grandmother during break, and the distance brings her closer to Toki as they share their days over text. But a trip to a cottage with their friends complicates things. I don't really think a love rival is needed here.
