Doom Eternal is still the only game in the entire franchise I’ve ever bounced off of. I do not like the focus on precision weapon swapping/split-second decision making. I get the core philosophy of the design, I just really don’t vibe with it, and will never pay for the DLCs because of it.

I am always trying to be the better clown. I am always trying to keep my composure and be a reputable agent of comfort and comedy. I am trying to be good. The world is trying to turn me into a villain every day, yet I persist in my endeavors to be better. If I can, so can you. Be the best you.

22.) A game sequel that disappointed you: Dead Space 3. Coming off of Dead Space 2’s brilliant gameplay and storytelling and being thrust into the mediocre “finale” that was DS3 was disappointing, but taking away the iconic weapons roster was their biggest crime.

21.) Game with the Best Story: this one’s super easy for me. GTA IV is one of my favorite stories of all time. The whole thing, including the DLC stories creates such a compelling narrative. I adore it to this day.

20.) Favorite Genre: Honestly? Mid-2000’s Arcade Racers. Need for Speed Underground 2 through Carbon are my first thoughts, but also Midnight Club and some of the Test Drives. It’s been hard to find a good racing game that scratches that itch these days.

19.) Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in: This one is purely based on the aesthetic and not the actual state of the world. I’d never get tired of the hyper-sterile look of Mirror’s Edge’s cityscape. Every time I look at it I stop and admire the details.

18.) Favorite Protagonist: This one is easy. She’s always been one of my favorite characters in gaming history, but it’s specifically the original trilogy version of her. Miss Lara Croft is the answer here!

17.) Favorite Antagonist: Call it low-hanging fruit, but I love Vaas Montenegro’s villainy and insanity above many others. Michael Mando sold the role. His monologues live rent-free in my head.

16.) Game with the best cutscenes: Metal Gear Solid 4. It’s often a movie with intermittent gameplay, but man is it over the top and so much fun. I can’t wait to revisit it in August!

14.) Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper: I have many set to cycle, so I’ll pick one of my favorites. It’s my favorite Elden Ring boss! I just think Astel is so fuckin cool.

13.) A game you’ve played more than 5 times: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater! Bet you thought I was gonna say Spyro (you’d still be right.)

12.) A Game Everyone Should Play: I’m honestly gonna stick with Matpat on this one; everyone should play Undertale. It’s just such an important piece of art, and it manages to never not be fun or charming.

11.) Gaming system of Choice: If I had to pick one to stick with from now until forever? I can’t pass up the joys the PS2 brought me. It’s the best console of all time, and the real-world numbers back me up.

10.) Best Gameplay: I honestly would have to go genre-by-genre to do justice, but in general? I honestly have to give it to Marvel’s Spider-Man. The gameplay feels so very fluid and fun.

9.) Saddest Game Scene - John Marston’s Last Stand. After all he went through, he’s just cut down so unceremoniously. It really puts the point of the whole story in perspective.

8.) Best Game Soundtrack: I was torn between this and Hotline Miami, but this is an original score written specifically for the game, which I feel carries more weight. The answer is Journey.

7.) Favorite Game Couple: Arthur Morgan and Mary Linton, without question.

6.) Most Annoying Character: Hunter the Cheetah. Fucker’s working for the bad guy in both Spyro 2 and 3 I swear. Every quest is just “TRAIN MY FUCKING MANTA RAY & RIDE THIS SKATEBOARD YOU PURPLE CUNT, I OWN YOU.”
