The cat apparently is also a frisbee sicko, intent on watching every playoff game.
This is my "to-read" shelf. Considering I get through 25-35 books a year, this looks to be about a 2 year or more commitment to get through all of these 😳
Huh... I really listened to Evanescene that much this week? Embarrassing. But that Wolf & Bear album is spectacular and should get even more listens in future weeks!
That night instead of sleep I was fighting fever demons. And the next day I did get meds but basically ceased to be functional for 16 hours while my body warred against the trespassing bacteria. My heart rate and breathing were intense despite laying in a corner all day. What a fight!
Last week was the first Wind Chill game that my 8yo didn't attend with me this year. Was also their only loss so far this season. Coincidence? One wonders (gonna get us playoff tix just to make sure it's not on us 😅)
People always remember Minnesota for our cold winters, but I love it here because we get all four seasons. And we get them all FULLY. Like this week, for example, could be mistaken for July in Arizona, except it doesn't cool off at night. Hoping not to die at ultimate. 😬
Kind of love that the center of this album quilt is a big middle finger under "Adios", which feels exactly how I feel at the end of any given work week.
Another fun outing with the kiddo watching the Wind Chill last night.
Even Potato the cat is zeroed in on seeing if Minnesota based Surly teams can grab 3 gold medals today at the Masters Ultimate World Championships.
Looking back on what I listened to most this week... definitely a weird mix.
Kiddo and friends had a fun night out at the (packed!) Wind Chill game last night after the rain cleared out. He also came home with some Loons swag and tickets!
Book 15: The Ninth Metal There was a lot to like here. Mystery, old west themes, sci-fi elements... but sometimes it didn't all come together. The last 1/3 mostly. Up to there, though, I was _loving_ it. Definitely a unique non-standard sci-fi read. #booksky www.goodreads.com/book/show/53...
Picked up with KC's Burnt Ends this weekend. Hoping I could give them a local boost. Instead re-injured myself during the first game of the day 😕
My top listens from this week. My fav was likely the new August Burns Red. Feels like they've _finally_ tapped back into the straight ahead aggression from the early era of their career.
Kind of all over the place this week. Hip-hop to countrycore to post-rock to swancore to deathcore... indecisively moody listening landscape.
Always a great time when I get to watch @amygeb.bsky.social give a talk. Truly great stuff she present at Open Ource North this year.
It's one of those mornings.... But hey, at least OKC got bounced. Silver linings and all.
Running a tournament today and not being able to play (thank you soft tissue injuries), is brutal. Sitting still and watching is torture.
