Daughter and boyfriend came over so I made a little plate to pair with the wine. La joie de vivre
A bit jealous. I had planned to do that at my lake in summer but someone decided we have storms during my PTO. Enjoy the ride. It looks lovely
Dutch people didn't like the halftime show... Here is a poll on a news site. I think, after 8600 votes, the verdict is clear. Let's see how they mess up the Olympics..
They gifted me a new Lego set for my birthday. But that was also the start of our vacation. Had to wait four weeks to start building.
There was an exhibition a few years back with "predictions" and lifestyles from around 1880-1920. what they used and what they thought the world would look like. I sadly didn't take many pictures, but the ideas about the future, around 1890, were amazing.
Make sure you take time to enjoy life… we had a nice French cider at the lake. hopefully, if weather permits, tonight again.
For me the most important task of the day 😉. Heating up the sauna. Ready for a washup in the cottage before we head out tomorrow. Need to look smart for the “real” world
While doing some research in our family history, I ran into a priest that had a horrible writing I am trying to decipher the name marked in yellow. Something someting Johan Reinhold Henriksson.. but Johan for me is very unclear.. like there is a “y” there.. any linguistic experts around?
Some folks go on vacation to lay on the beach… we? We go and built stuff. Terrace and fence + shaded area (still needs the roofing). We are no people to sit still. Next up sauna and something with a bit of alcohol to celebrate finishing this stage.
Current status of the world… we’re the frogs in the boiling water, but we’re also the ones controlling the knobs. (Well, some are.. Many know this is going to get worse)
At Omnissa we have a yearly hackathon. This year I participated with Oliver. We created a new internal product called CIRA, created with and powered by Claude AI. As a non dev guy winning from 100 dev teams, I am surprised but happy. This is how great team work brings results.
How dumb a developer you have to be to design a UI that shows this stupid control over the message option, blocking options to add photos, etc to a WhatsApp message. Apple IpadOS failure..
View from a few days ago, lovely morning with some ferries in the background
Today I baked a rhubarb Strawberry crumble pie… for father’s day…. Well, not really.. didn’t realize it was Father’s Day, just had some ingredients that needed a purpose.
I agree with this approach. I do that with Crème Brûlée. But also with how coffee is served, not to act posh, but why can't we enjoy things these days? We're not always on the go.
"The package arrived in your country". Well, I am not sure about that. Belgium hasn't been a part of the Netherlands for about 200 years now. We'd love to be united again but that is another story..
I have never seen those, what country was that? Ours are orange on Kingsday, but I've never seen a double-decker.. but don't challenge folks here ;)
Not delivered in 65 days? Who waits 65 days for an order? It is still faster delivered than a Trump phone with an 11-stripes US flag. Paying $499 for a cheap Chinese ripoff, you folks like to be scammed.
Took a day trip to #dusseldörf. Just one hour away and I never visited it. Just a stroll around looking for jugendstil architecture and more modern ones like this one.
Sometimes you just need to look around and enjoy the beauty of nature.. Biked by a stork nest (ooievaar in Dutch), had my P1000 with me so distance was not an issue.. heatwaves were a challenge, but happy with the shot.
When in Paris visit Les Petits Crus Paris share.google/3Rhfh4Zx0vsP.... Lovely wine and cheese matching.
When you can upgrade to business but it is row one. And row one is for small people, can’t even stretch your legs. Also no in a hurry and it is a short flight. There is really no benefit for me
I recently shattered someone's perception of the Netherlands. There are no fields of Tulips across the country. The tulip fields are concentrated in a small area. I have never seen fields of Tulips myself, and I have lived here for 57 years. We got fields of other flowers, but not Tulips.
