Thread: An old farmhouse, three cows heading home, and a bright crescent moon lighten the dusk. This one-of-a-kind pen & ink drawing reflects my love of vibrant colour, pattern, and Hiberno-Celtic inspired contemporary art. If it speaks to you, you’ll find the original waiting in my shop. [1]
I promised you some doctorbob™️ Emojis. Here’s my first one, what emotion is it though ?! Look at my eyebrow action!
The safest way for commerce & retail companies, as well as other orgs, in the UK is to remove the gender symbols from your toilets. Just put a WC sign on it & hey presto you get Schrödinger’s Toilet. I love physics.
[16] Which because I said finally above, reminds me of Dublin’s favourite Dubliner, Dean Swift. The famine of the 1840s was the worst of a series going back to the 1720s. He wrote his jaw-dropping Modest Proposal in outrage: www.gutenberg.org/files/1080/1...
The thing I miss most about using social media is being unable to give my withering side-eye. It has the same power as skinning a middle aged man’s scrotum & dipping his Crown Jewels in salt*. I particularly want it for tulips who have ‘feelings’ about science or history, rather than facts.
Apparently British Police are declaring speculation on who murdered far right extremist & bigot, Ann Widdecombe, ‘unhelpful’. Normally detectives go for whoever has the most to gain. In other news Farage changed the narrative from his alleged corruption to her ‘martyrdom’.
I don’t know anyone whim would allow their child take part in a sectarian march. Apparently the BBC thinks it’s perfectly normal to hate Catholics? The people marching are the same ones who recently carried out a pogrom against over 100 non-White local families. The BBC continues to normalise hate.
You won’t see me drawing Spiderman [much to my nephews disgust & I did try!] or doing a big political work on the downfall of capitalism etc. I’m more interested in that silent room behind your eyes where the past plays like a View-Finder on acid against psychedelic drapes…
The best way to look at art is to ask yourself do you like it or not, without knowing anything about it? If it’s a gallery pic do some research on their contemporaries & how they differed to each other. For instance I love Geertgen Tot Sint Jans, a minor painter.
I get annoyed when ppl try to make art a competition [this artist’s drawings are so realistic they trick Chihuahuas into believing they are real] or ‘but no one else covered the subject of Mary with Jesus’ body’ [most did from the 16-17th C]. Or they think kitsch is genius - the rainbow tulips 😱
I feel better now, I’m posting about Welsh art & not English Neo-Nazis. Art has always been my safe place. A group of friends I can meet in any gallery, who speak my language & inspire me* [Gwen John portrait]. A [1]
… matters speak to them or perhaps the quiet humility speaks to them? If you want to see the difference between good & great. Here’s a good portrait by Augustus John & a great [R] portrait by his sister Gwen!
I fucking hate being a historian at times like this, & having to check info in Twitter. Far right extremist Widdecombe is murdered. Far right extremist Farage leverages her death into her being the Horst Wessel of the Home Counties. They deserve each other in life & death.
Seriously the US Democratic Party is an unfunny joke. Evil far right bastard dies [with no redeeming features other than that death]. Trump shows that authentic emotion works. ‘Glad the fucker is gone & he can’t starve more kids’ is the correct response- you don’t normalise evil, but the Dems do.
