In 1988, scientists warned Congress that the climate crisis had begun. The world set 2°C as the limit. Vulnerable nations said that would destroy them. Now we may reach 2°C this year — with extreme conditions. The limits were always a Western average. The people in the extremes never got to vote.

They said industrial heat couldn't be decarbonised. Too hot. Too complex. Too expensive. A startup just built one of America's largest clean industrial heat projects in under a year using wind power and blocks of carbon. The excuse is gone. What's left is just who profits from delay.

UN report: AI water consumption will be equivalent to that of 1.3 billion people by 2030. Data centres are the 11th-largest electricity consumers on Earth, producing 2.5 million tonnes of e-waste annually. The $5 trillion market doesn't pay those costs. Everyone else does.
