Someone shared this yesterday and I had to repost it.

Labour's win in Manchester makes a really solid case for PR. Labour would have won under FTPT but did far better under PR (well a form of PR). What's more, they have a greater share of the voting electorate who can say that they voted Labour. This is how you can begin to rebuild trust in politics.
The UK electoral system is not fit for purpose. Andy Burnham knows this and for a long time he has put his backing behind Electoral Reform. ER is the gift of true democracy that can cement Labour's place in history in a positive way. Sign the petition now! actionstorm.org/petitions/na...
Is it just me or does something feel uncannily easy about the way Andy Burnham is gliding towards the Premiership. No contenders, no campaign, no challenges, no shady leadership donations. — Or have I just become unbearably cynical about politics? #SpiderSensesTingling

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD For all those times when I forgot it or did too little, I'm sorry. I miss you, your delight at slapstick humour and tall stories. I miss the chats, the pride, even the arguments over politics. I'll always be grateful for what you did and what you sacrificed for me.
Damn! I have the ultra catchy Mina the Hollower soundtrack going round and round in my head! If you don't believe me about how catchy it is, you can listen to it yourself on Qobuz open.qobuz.com/album/m7c0j2...

Hot Take of the day: The massive drive behind AI and specifically the building of data centres is another front on the campaign by fossil fuel companies to lock the human race into oil dependence for a generation.
It's a trap. This is a heavy reform voting area. The MP that is standing down is involved with Labour to win. This will take Andy Burnham off the board and clear the way for Streeting.
Still looks a lot like Epstein's Manhattan living room in there
We had a fantastic morning at Stroud International Workers Day, showing up for @greenpartytu.bsky.social with Fridays Green Party Workers Charter. Our support for workers rights is heartfelt and honest: we are here to give everyone a life worth living… and a world worth living in.
Thank you @simonforstroud.bsky.social for signing Andy McDonald's motion to the Crime and Policing Bill to reject the govts new 'cumulative disruption' protest-curbing powers.

@busterbenson.com I'm having huge difficulty logging in to 750 today to keep up my 465 day streak. Is there something happening with the site? I've tried multiple browsers, incognito mode, magic link. Nothing seems to be working for me today.
Thought for the day: thought for an entire life.

Luc Besson's new Dracula movie is a delight and a considered retelling of the story, digging into the time between the count being cursed by God and the appearance of Mina Harker in Victorian times (now set in Paris.) Wonderful homage to the Gary Oldman take on the prince of darkness.
The UK government is commissioning a definition of anti-Muslim racism and appointing a "tsar" to oversee it's application. They seem to have forgotten that a definition already exists, that has been widely accepted by institutions, police forces, universities and local government.
This war is a last roll of the dice for Trump - he wants to bury the Epstein files and secure a state of emergency, so that he can remain in the Presidency beyond his term. He doesn't care about you or anybody else on this Earth. He revels in sentencing innocent people to death and craves wealth.
Mothin Ali - on point as ever. It is humbling to see that a community gardener from Gipton & Harehills holds more integrity in his little finger than the entire Westminster political Elite. “My critics want silence. But advocating for peace is what democracy demands” archive.ph/202603081520...
They won a by-election yesterday too with 67% of the vote. It's time @greenparty.org.uk was taken seriously.
