Today is Ani Pema Chodron’s 90th birthday. She is a true Wisdom Teacher. In my journey over 30 years with my teacher, Thrangu Rinpoche, his admiration and respect for her was pure. Happy 90th Birthday, Ani Pema! Deep Bow and thank you for all you share on the path. RESPECT.
If I had to choose just one teaching from Ani Pema Chodron, one that has stuck with me, it would be her instruction about Idiot Compassion.

China says it will choose the next Dalai Lama. I genuinely don’t understand how this serves China? It seems the opposite will happen. Can a government appoint the spiritual leader of a 2,500-year-old tradition and expect Buddhists around the world to accept that authority? I don't get it. 🙏🏻

It’s been going on for more than a decade and yet it’s not a headline. Imho, there would be an end to this injustice when the trafficking and slave economy is further exposed. If you haven’t read ⬇️ it stands as a primer to how and why this doesn't stop.
My friend has a saying, “I’m reading X book for the first time of at least 40 times…” I understand. 🙏🏻 There are these masterworks where every page calls for deep processing. This book was a favorite of Thrangu Rinpoche’s. I'm reading it again for the first time….of 40 times.
