Met Cara Santa Maria and Steven Novella at a taping for The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe. I was giddy but able to hold it together.
Two years ago today I released my sixth book, The Soul Phone Collector, and one of these screen grabs is a sticker I still use as my phone's wallpaper. The other I grabbed last year on Halloween in order to capture a specific time. I think it looks cool. Today's a good day to share.
See what LA locations you recognize in the book series… #losangeles #reading
The guitar has a skin strap, intestines for strings, a bone bridge, and teeth as tuners. The body and neck are made from an extinct tree, the last cut down a thousand years ago. #books #horrorcomedy
Are you more of a witch or more of a cat? I bet you think this book is about you, don’t you?
You know things are desperate when you’re looking at food at 6a on the ‘zon. Also, I just learned this is a thing. Wtf… Imagine eating a popsicle and thinking, f*ck, I wish this was pickled. #hungry
My friend Tim just completed an awesome book on leadership for young adults. I love speaking w other writers and artists, and am stoked when their journey leads to this. This is so cool! Of course, it's a process, and it's the process we find so fulfilling. Tim, you inspire me to keep keeping on!
This will be my second year at HorrorCon LA. I’m curious if I’ll recognize anyone. horrorconla.com #books
To celebrate the 129th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s genre-defining book, here’s pic of a friend (Ted) and me at the 100th anniversary convention in LA. Math. And a current-ish copy of said book. I don’t usually keep it in an opened coffin, but it’s a fun pic.

I rarely get to see this angle of how my hair is changing. I embrace the grey streaks. #genx
I’m signing books next weekend! With help from Azara’s Oddities, Consumia’s Spiritual Emporium jumps from fiction to reality at Halfway to Halloween. #horror
I'll be at the Halfway to Halloween festival in Riverside signing books, selling unique merchandise. Maybe l'Il be wearing a hat. IDK. May 1, 2, and 3. Easterween? A sunny place for nightmares. #horror
You see, the "A" is really a subliminal vote of approval. But it may not work now. I've inadvertently exposed and ruined it. #craftbeer #magichour #A
One summer, little 11 yr old Robby listened to Detroit Tigers games on the radio while sorting baseball cards, drawing players (like Kirk Gibson), and building a toothpick Tiger stadium. That was the last time they won the World Series. In a totally not superstitious manner, here are photos. #mlb
Pho cafe, I love you, but even after all these years, I feel you don’t really know me. #pho #fortune #fortunecookie
I love this time of year: dried leaves, spices, hot cider, baseball playoffs…and Halloween. I wrote this over a year ago, but it fits the season.
