You may remember we said goodbye to our beloved pup Dottie a few months ago. Well, we have a new dog in our lives: meet Alice! Alice is 19 months old, and came from a shelter in Atlanta. We think she's a pittie/Frenchie mix. AI thinks she's a sphynx cat. Apple Computer thinks she's a dogcow. #moof
I absolutely love the implications in this bottle copy. 1. “FOR PETS ONLY (DOGS & HORSES)”: there are no other animals kept as pets but those two species. 2. “NOT FOR CATS”: Cats are *explicitly* not pets.
Ck5’s computers seem to have the teal(?) screen of death. Very ‘94, very cool.
Married this amazing lady ten years ago today. Best thing I’ve ever done.
Current wildfire smoke status. And now I can smell the burning. Not great!
Took this photo yesterday evening in Watch Hill. That red dot is the sun.
Research gems: this person is James Madole, a neo-Nazi leader, around the time he was represented by Aryeh Neier of the NYCLU. Later, Neier wrote of Madole, "[he was] a cadaverous-looking middle-aged man who lived with his mother and was accompanied by her wherever he went."
We had to say goodbye to our wonderful Dottie on Monday. Like every pittie, she was strong and happy until she wasn’t, and we learned that her body was wracked with cancer. Our hearts are crushed and I’m taking some time off to grieve and heal. Please give your pets a big hug in Dottie’s memory. 💔
Today this unexplainable creature woke up too sick to move, and ended the day by tearing ass after, and getting doused by, a skunk. Dogs, man.
Between Powhassan virus, alpha-gal syndrome, and good old fashioned Lyme disease, I am doing everything I can to keep ticks at bay. It’s a bad year for the little bastards. I’d like to make it worse.
I am not an engineer, but couldn’t they just have done this with a big scissor lift?
I certainly think so. The people are warm, everyone speaks perfect English, things like trains and buses and commerce work as they should, and there is an absolute massive amount of history to explore. The food ranges from solid to spectacular. Politics are appropriately angry.
Here I am jumping on a trampoline that exists for no reason other than it’s joyful to jump on a trampoline for a minute.
I haven’t been to Stockholm, but my wife and I were in Copenhagen for a week last spring and it was one of the best trips, and easily one of the best cities I’ve visited. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Here I am crushing an insanely good hot dog.
“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing–absolutely nothing–half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
