I used to run with the wolves. Recovering texan, New Mexican by choice. Belly dancer for biodiversity. Secular animist. Forest stan. Reader. Known by a dozen dozen other names. If we don't cool the planet, nothing else matters much.
Howdy all! I was up waaaay too late watching the slow drama at the Kennedy Center. After all the time it took to build the scaffold it took about 30 minutes to pull the letters off. Scaffold & curtains still up, MS NOW still streaming. No Kings!
New Mexico's own Lone Piñon, tearing it up at Winrock Park in Albuquerque. Old Hispanic dance tunes with love and new energy. Brings joy.
Henry Cortez y los Heartaches. These kids are fabulous. Bilingual New Mex party bangers. If Buddy Holly had grown up in Española instead of Lubbock. They started with Wooly Bully. This is the band Lone Piñon chose to open for them.
At Winrock Park waiting for the Lone Piñon CD Release Celebration with Henry Cortez y Los Heartaches
Howdy all! As usual, trying to get THINGS done. Mostly failing. Planting trees tomorrow, Chisos oak & Autumn Glow maple. Rain after would be wonderful. Sucess and healing for all who need it. Here's a bee sleeping in a prickly pear cactus bloom. Wouldn't you like to sleep in a flower?
Bee sleeping in a flower, big bumblebee buzzing, cholla blossoms, pencil cactus blooms. #bloomscrolling
Meowdy all, for Caturday, my 3 in their 1st, brief, close proximity. Only lasted 5 minutes, but progess! I've been planting lots of native flowers & shrubs + an Afgan pine, a Chisos oak and an Autumn Glow maple hybridized at NMSU to be tolerant of heat, cold, wind & drought. 🤞. I'm tired!
Squee, there's a bee! Sleeping in a prickly pear cactus flower. Early evening 1 photo taken with the flash. 1 photo taken without.
It's been another awful day in America. Here's a cat being weird for your entertainment
I dropped a little cactus, floofy cat immediately lay on top of the dirt. Was he trying to help clean up? Or just liked it? Is he innocent or guilty @darthbluesky.bsky.social ?
After I got my new cactus home I dropped it. The Chaos Cat immediately helped out by lounging in the loose dirt.
A local tire store found the tiny sliver of metal causing a slow leaked, and fixed the popped-out section of my back bumper unasked, all for free. And they gave me a baby Claret Cup cactus!
Blooming Cactus, including 1 bee, head down in heaven. #bloomscrolling
The cupcake thief is lurking, looking, (p)lotting. Not even the leftover paper is safe. I must remain vigilent.
I also bought a house for myself, then put another house inside it for a hairy, feckless man.
Standing up against uranium mining in New Mexico with Tewa Women United, SWOP, Diné Against Nukes and others. A good way to celebrate Earth Day.
