Evacuee from other place, seeking the 1/2 of America that doesn't support felons and racists. Environmental science guy, Philly by day, Delaware by night.
Daily reminder on traffic in the Strait of Hormuz from Vessel Finder. The big empty spot with no ships in the middle is the Strait, which the Trump regime claims is running 2/3 of its normal volume of shipping.
I had to look this up because I couldn't remember if it was real or something I imagined in a fever dream: Marlon Brando as "Sakini" in Teahouse of the August Moon. Never saw it, never will.
Well, this was Vessel Finder 5 minutes ago. Apparently the Strait is open because there aren't any ships in it getting in each others' way.
In the meantime, this is the Strait of Hormuz a few minutes ago, according to Marine Traffic (www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/...). The dots and triangles are all ships that are stuck on either side, and the big empty space is the Strait. This seems like a pretty high card.
This was our "thin crowd" in little Newark DE. ~6000 people in a town of 30,000.
It's painful watching the mainstream Dems repeatedly fail the assignment. There is no room left for compromise. Resist - or step aside.
I had colleagues - highly educated people - in *February* of 2025 still telling me I was "over reacting" and that it wouldn't be that bad. Then the cuts in science grants and suddenly "who could've known it would be this bad!?" Actually, me.
Maybe stop beating up Congressional candidates and tear gassing people for exercising Constitutional rights and we'll stop treating you like a bunch of thugs.
My favorite sign from the Philly No-Kings march. Hey - politics is important but we won the freaking Super Bowl!
What do you mean you can't cover up dead? Holograms, AI, puppet stings, bodies enlivened by voodoo, slamming-door farces. You just have to think outside the box.
Took this when I was hiking at state park in PA. Realized it's another hopelessly woke place where Nancy Mace wouldn't be able to use the restroom.
I've posted this before but it never seemed so urgent. Dems, we're not playing 4-D chess on subtle policy issues - we're really, really at war with forces that are chewing up the Constitution. It's a crisis - start acting like it or get out of the way.
Absolutely. Deciding whether to make a new sign for tonight's Good Trouble action or just use one from my personal library. If you're having trouble figuring out where to go tonight, just check the map. www.mobilize.us/map/
Seen this a lot. Agree, but I also think about this one. Reynold Heydrich was actually worse than Goebbels. If he'd survived the war he would have been leading the dock at Nuremberg. Worth a google if you haven't heard of him.
Really fed up with the press propping up these clowns complaining that they don't have enough people to exploit. ICE and these farmers each dehumanize people in their own way.
Good call. Not sure how I missed that. Though I think Brasi still would be considered a villain.
Anybody unsure about standing in the rain today, just a reminder of hat the U.S.'s last great fight against fascism.
Heading out to a protest shortly. Supposed to rain, but I think a lot of people have made a lot bigger sacrifices to beat back fascism. #NoKings #Indivisible
Did she say "tooth fairy?" WTAF?? I had to listen twice to make sure, and honestly, listening to that twice was more than twice as awful as listening to it once.
Hiking today. Stopped to use a restroom. Apparently the Pennsylvania State Parks are hopelessly woke. I guess Nancy Mace would have to wait until she could pee in the woods.
Sorry to keep using this but I will not waste another hour of what remains of my life to worry about people who voted for Trump for any reason. This formerly big-tent leftist is ready to close the flap and look after the people who weren't idiots in 2024.
