Another motorcycle racing legend - Stuart Graham with his Suzuki RT67.. Barry Sheene raced this bike in 1970 too.
Mike loved it - he’s been here a few times but today was special as he was in the “Rivals” category & got to ride up the hill with 1993 world champion Kevin Schwantz
Well, may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Portsmouth hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeasts sweeping majestically...
Met one of my motorsport heroes here today - 1975 350cc motorcycle world champion, F1, Le Mans & touring car legend Johnny Cecotto
The bumps and high speed nature of the circuit at Brooklands meant it was only for the bravest drivers, not everyone mastered it..
I’m guessing Cilla isn’t on my flight tonight because I’ve been allocated her seat #SurpriseSurprise
These were my 4 choices at Goodwood in the end.. the Alfa(red) was brilliant to drive as I expected, the Lancia (yellow) was lovely to drive but needed another 100hp. However the Standard 10 & the Austin A40 were massive fun - last session in the A40 was so good, as we caught the Standard 10 😉
So decided to have a run in the Standard 10 and around Goodwood it was an absolute hoot - drifting around the faster corners at the back of the circuit.. and the Alfa was a dream to drive and quick!
Change of plan on my 1st choice.. but the Standard 10 was an absolute hoot to drive, drifting it at speed around the circuit! Nothing like my Giulia here at Goodwood
