Aging boomer. Here mostly for music, baseball (long time Cubs fan) and some occasional politics but not much since not much gets resolved here on social media.
I knew it was coming. This is a tough one. There are a couple of locks and unless I've completely forgotten one, my top 5 comes from this group.
#ArtistFave15 OK, my list is almost done. I wanted to do an artist that I wasn't sure how the results would come out. I'm doing some last minute tweaking. My artist for April:
And then there were 6. I'm down to my final 6. I had to make a few rules to get to this point but I'm content with these. I'm not looking to add any new ones. I have a couple of thoughts on which one to bump but I have no idea on the final ranking yet. #5DebutAlbums50s60s
I think I'm down to these 9 choices. The Beatles are likely #9 so they will drop. #5DebutAlbums50s60s
Another one that will be hard to keep out of the Top 5. #5DebutAlbums50s60s I think I'm going to restrict my Top 5 to those that really hit me and I still enjoy listening to. Otherwise, there are just too many to choose. Important historical albums like the Beatles debut will be cut.
As least for me, thankfully that is not the Moody Blues debut otherwise I'd have another tough choice. This early one before Hayward and Lodge is the debut. #5debutalbums50s60s
#5DebutAlbums50s60s If a Blues album makes my list, it is likely this one that has always been a favorite. Highlights include “I Don’t Want No Woman”, “That’s All I Need” and a good version of “Sweet Home Chicago”. Will be tough to keep this one out.
#5DebutAlbums50s60s I lean toward their greatest hits versus the individual albums. Some real high points here but some of the songs don’t do much. Not going to make Top 5.
#5DebutAlbums50s60s No surprise as this one is looking like Top 5. I’m enjoying going back through some of these older albums.
#5DebutAlbums50s60s My final album of a full day of music. A strong contender for top 5. Dreams and Whipping Post alone make it worthy. Released in November 1969 so it gets in under the wire.
#5DebutAlbums50s60s Tonight's dinner making music. I know this album will get a LOT of support but I can't put it in my top 5. Maybe if "European Son" wasn't on it but I really tune out as it gets to that song at the end.
#5DebutAlbums50s60s My morning listen. An ambitious double album debut. It goes from the rock/pop of "Anybody Really Know What Time It Is" to Terry Kath guitar jams on "Free Form Guitar" and "Liberation" with a lot of horns throughout. I've always liked it but not sure it will make the top 5.
#5DebutAlbums50s60s Time to start finalizing the list. I can't imagine this one not making the final 5.
I'm a bit older but this demented movie from the 60's gave me nightmares when I was a kid.
I’ve been in a music rut lately listening to the same music and playlists. Sad considering I have 1000’s of CD’s & LP’s. So I’m going to start at the beginning of my CD’s pulling out ones I haven’t listened to in awhile. It will take a time but new old music will be fun. Starting now with… #musicsky
