Fire has worsened again in last few hours. 1am from Nethybridge Broomhill
Such an incredible response this evening to see workers and equipment from estates all over the Highlands streaming in to Nethybridge to help save RSPB Abernethy.
Edge of Abernethy Forest this evening. It’s not looking good. Declare a major incident Scotgov and get the military in.
Thought the helicopters had finally arrived to help fight the fires….oh the irony of the only ones in the sky being these two transporting wealthy golfers between courses. Landed at Royal Dornoch. Far too busy to help out.
There’s a new fire this evening in Abernethy, about 1/2 mile from Nethy, no more info, just praying it’s under control.
Huge wildfire just on the boundary of Abernethy Forest. Wind currently taking it towards Glenmore. Cairngorm Mountain resort and Glenmore residents evacuated.

No mention at all by national media. It’s only a 15km long fire in the Highlands.
2 mile front reported and houses being evacuated this evening. All roads north closed.
Yes you can. Just over-ride default using “Don’t show detections”. But if you’re looking for say it picking up that Bee-Eater fly-over it seems you need add this as a “possible” species (show more detections option) or it won’t detect it. Tested it a few times with playback. Works.
Clearly the muir burn fraternity don’t seem to understand the meaning of “High Wildfire Risk”.
