My pet peeve is when a character figures something out based on a weird, insane assumption that nobody would ever make but is correct anyway. Like, off the top of my head I can think of half a dozen more probable-in-context reasons than "sentient poison cloud"
I finished Trials of Mana yesterday (and the screenshot I took of the ending is nowhere to be found so please accept this one instead) and I liked it! I think this would be remembered as a beloved-but-flawed classic if it had come to NA in 1995. It's got that cozy FFVI/Crono Trigger charm.
The other day I finished a colorized fan hack of Final Fantasy Adventure (which I've played a couple of times before) and today I finished a fan expanded version of Secret of Mana (which I've tried to play in the past but it was too annoying). Forgive the dust on the screen in that one picture.
Partner was lamenting that he started Indiana Jones and the Great Circle when he had a free month of Game Pass but never finished it, so I went to see how much the Xbox version is, and that's how I learned that Microsoft does limited runs of their first party games.
This paragraph from the Mana series wikipedia page doesn't make sense. Why would they trademark a title in 1989 "intending to use it" for a game they cancelled two years earlier?
