Im sure someone with money made it clear they're mad and that's the only thing they care about. How can companies still profit from nsfw while also letting trans people and sw get ruined

User aurahack talking about bsky reversing the nsfw shadowbanning implementation. The site and the people who operate it deserve a lot of flak for some of their decisions but this is twice now that they've, in parenthesis, relatively, quickly reversed stuff people have overwhelmingly complained about.

We are increasingly being encouraged to integrate generative AI into research and teaching. Individuals use it for writing, planning and teaching; universities are experimenting with embedding it into curricula. However, my case reveals a fundamental weakness: these tools were not developed with academic standards of reliability and accountability in mind.

If a single click can irrevocably delete years of work, ChatGPT cannot, in my opinion and on the basis of my experience, be considered completely safe for professional use. As a paying subscriber (€20 per month, or US$23), I assumed basic protective measures would be in place, including a warning about irreversible deletion, a recovery option, albeit time-limited, and backups or redundancy.

my response. discord has been on thin ice for me since it got bought because it's becoming more annoying to use and is constantly trying to sell me things behind nitro's paywall. i cancelled my nitro a long time ago because of this. it is currently the last of my socialization apps that hasn't forced AI on me, but if it does I rather go without it entirely. i rather go back to sending emails as my main source of online chatting than keep feeding this plagiarism machine and anyone who champions it
