Ruby Central is the organizing force behind RubyConf, RailsConf & the proud maintainers of RubyGems, Bundler. We've been advancing the Ruby ecosystem & community since 2001. Get involved: RailsConf 2025:
RubyConf may be over, but conferences keep coming. How do you reset after a few days of nonstop talking, learning, and socializing? Ours: sleep. A lot of it. What's your recovery ritual?
RubyConf 2026: a wrap. Keynotes from Obie Fernandez and Dave Thomas, a Matz Q&A with tenderlove (ask about the AI-scented candle intern interview), and an ice cream social to close it out. Gonna now take a nap. Safe travels home, everyone.
Day 2 of RubyConf 2026: the "Once a Maintainer" panel with Allison Pike, Jeremy Evans, Colby Swandale & Richard Schneeman, workshops, Hack Spaces, Birds of a Feather, the Future of Ruby panel, Ruby Runway startup pitches, Lightning Talks, and Game Night. Final day is here.
Day 1 of RubyConf 2026: Matz's opening keynote, an incredible lineup of session speakers, celebrating our 7 Ruby Luminary Awardees, and closing out with Jessica Kerr asking "Who We Are Now?" in an age of AI-assisted coding. Onward to Day 2.
Travel day🚗✈️ Safe flights, smooth drives, no delays. When you land, you're 20 minutes from one of the best resort backdrops we've ever had for this conference. Get settled, find your people tonight, and come ready tomorrow. We'll see you at RubyConf.
2 days out. The hallway track at RubyConf is half the conference. The conversations that happen between sessions, over lunch, waiting for the elevator... some of the best ones you'll have all year. 👉️ rubyconf.org
3 days out. If you haven't been to Red Rock Canyon: 15 minutes from the Strip, stunning, and a nature break that eases conference-snack guilt. Good for a morning or evening. 📍 Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
4 days out. Packing checklist, RubyConf edition: Laptop + chargers ✅ Layers (Vegas AC is brutal) ✅ Sunscreen (for brave adventurers) ✅ Your fave board game for Game Night ✅ Your best celeb impersonations ✅ Game Night on Day 2 is legendary. Bring something worth playing.

The Ruby community values readable, intentional, human software. This year's Beautiful Ruby track returns to those foundations—abstraction, modularity, TDD—what makes code worth working in. We're curious: which principle or practice do you keep returning to?

Hack Spaces is back. If you've never experienced it: it's one of the most genuinely collaborative parts of RubyConf. Open source projects, featured tables, people actually working together in the same room. More info at rubyconf.org/community_day/
It's July 4th, which means somewhere right now a developer is writing a fireworks simulator in Ruby when they could just go outside. What's the most over-engineered thing you've ever built just because you could? Drop it below.👇️
This week, Kinsey Durham Grace: "It feels like home and like family." The MINISWAN spirit is real. Ruby conferences hit different, and Kinsey's story is exactly why. Share your Ruby story: buff.ly/QhriRDV
Two weeks out from RubyConf Las Vegas, and the schedule is live. Three days, three themes: Living with the Robots, Beautiful Ruby, and Weird Ruby. Something in there will challenge you. Probably more than one thing. 👉️ rubyconf.org

A pet-sitting marketplace where sitters keep 100% of what they earn, rankings reward trust not discounts, and every sitter is background checked. Catch Paresh Sharma pitching Viveture at Ruby Runway, July 15 at RubyConf Community Day. viveture.com
RubyGems was conceptualized during late-night hacking sessions at RubyConf. One conversation changed Ruby history. Community Day still has that energy. Join us. 🎟️ buff.ly/hgp3bDq
What does RubyConf mean to @schneems? Accidentally having breakfast with Aaron Patterson, getting commit-bit from Evan Phoenix, and a shirt off someone's back. Literally. 🧵👇
TutorialKit.rb w/ Albert Pazderin is building interactive Ruby tutorials that run in the browser w/ WebAssembly. Bring a gem, build a tutorial, or just stop by. Beyond every featured project, there are open tables for any collaboration that wants to happen. Show up. See where the day takes you.
Calling Ruby mentors and senior devs: what’s the one concept you wish someone had explained earlier—the lightbulb idea that took months to click? Metaprogramming, the object model, how Rack works, or something embarrassingly basic. Share it—someone learning needs this.
Woah, wait a sec! Have you seen this? !😱 The VIP Experience Raffle closes July 1st — don't be the one who waited too long.🧵👇
Remote work. Economic pressure. AI moving fast. It can feel like you're figuring it out alone. RubyConf is the room where that changes. 🤝 buff.ly/hgp3bDq
Two intermediate-level projects you should know about at Hack Spaces: Garnet.js with Cameron Dutro: a Ruby implementation in TypeScript. New enough that your contributions will be significant. Ruby/net-imap with Nick Evans: the Ruby IMAP client API, live and ready for contributors. buff.ly/FMNCNhV
Three new Day 1 additions at RubyConf 👀 Aaron Patterson on FFI. Neha Abraham on Rails performance. Charles Nutter on JRuby. Las Vegas. ti.to/rubyconf/rub...
Some of the best moments at Hack Spaces do not come from a project list. They come from sitting down with someone who knows something you need to learn. Evil Martians, Joe Masilotti, and the RubyGems team are all running open office hours on Community Day. Come with questions. buff.ly/FMNCNhV
