Other things I'm also 3D modeling: the heels for my shoes (they're a weird shape and height) and mold masters for the foam clay details on the armor.
Not to be a Debby downer™ but everyday I am reminded why I hate worbla lmao. This project is testing my skills and patience 💀😂 I have to redo the front because as you can see I goofed some of the pieces/shapes (don't work on cosplay when you're sick people)
The tunic dress was also airbrushed like the capelet. (I ran out of paint so I need to touch it up)
So for the armor pieces I'm doing a mix of medias: worbla (corset armor), 3D prints (the head piece, neck/chest pieces, and sword/shealth), and foam (shoe armor, gauntlets, bracers and other arm pieces). 3D modeling was done in fusion 360.
Next up is the tunic dress! I used the same method I learned for making a traditional smock tunic and just scaled the math up for a dress (it's all rectangles and a keyhole neck opening)
Started by making some fake 🍈🍈 because I wanted anime girl™ proportions without messing with padding. Used a pattern I found on Etsy.
My current project was setting my brain on fire so I had to jump to something else 🤣 making jeanne d arc alter from fate (fate Apocrypha to be specific) the sleeves are my favorite part so far.
Unless of course you're actually THE elsa Emporium........ Considering the exact same flooring and wall siding from your coat WIP are all in the other listings she has up 🤔🤔🤔
Let's unpack the weird little AI couch. Anyone with an ounce of ability to eye ball yardage can tell you even if this couch existed, it's not enough to make a coat with that many pieces needing to cut out on the grain line. You would easily need 6-10 yards of uncut fabric to make that.
BTW for anyone interested: this is the piping he claims to have purchased on for the coat..... But see here the thing, this isn't "piping" this is what goes INSIDE piping. Which if he actually made the coat he'd know 🤭🤭🤭
I can keep going if you want especially since I've also reached out to the person that ACTUALLY made the coat. (Also if you're show and tell, show and tell me this exact tile flooring in your house right now in real time. Bet you can't/won't)
Working on the gauss rifle. Had to revisit some pieces since they aren't going to be stable as they are currently modeled/printed.
95% done! I just need to wait for everything to be fully dried and then I can weather it with some dirt. Because everything is dust and crusty in Fallout.
Also my cowboy boot lasts came in 👏👏👏 I'm honestly most excited to make these the most lol I love shoe/boot making and I'm going to attempt to use tacking, welting, etc methods for lasting and finishing this time.
Added some other layers of brown with a rough bristle chip brush and then covered in thick modge podge.
I tried hydrodipping the wood grain pattern 🤡 don't do what I did, and that's try this in 89°F+ weather in direct sunlight 🤣 but I sanded it down and surprisingly got the patterns/colors I was wanting anyway so it's fine.
I am doing everything I can to avoid molding/casting my face 🤣🤣 so here's my test printed for the butt stock and receiver of the gauss rifle.
Pray for me because I have also started modelling the Gauss Rifle from Fallout 4.
I have also finally sanded/filled and finished the printed scan of my head (done by @dangerousladies.ca ) I'm going to mold and cast multiple hydrocal positives (just the face) so I I have some blanks to sculpt on and cast from so if I screw up the original print doesn't get ruined.
For the purpose of saving time, I altered a polyester hat (don't recommend) for the photoshoot coming up and the skit. I'll make a real hat when I'm ready to do a craftsmanship entry.
Spent an hour tracing this on composited screenshots, sizing it to a scan of my pattern piece, and then promptly went to bed at 8pm lol I'll do some embroidery tests today to work out placement/size.
I've got my trim and bias tape sorted, I can now move onto my final mockup and get started on the actual shirt 🙌
Did some dye work for some fabric that I'll be using for the yoke/cuffs and piping. The lighter one was a mystery fabric and it obviously was a cotton blend lol now I wonder if I should get a piping that's a blend or try and find 100% cotton piping to dye 🤔
So a thing I learned when I made royal links gloves, is when working with leather you should either oil or wet the leather at the spots that will be the most difficult to turn out. That's why you'll probably notice there's discoloration in some areas.
Also glove time! This is a pattern that I drafted myself for royal guard link, I will probably be trimming the edge to shorten it after I've gotten it mostly together since I'm not sure exactly how long I want the cuff of the gloves to be since they're utility gloves technically.
