oh my god i think the charging ic in my first gen ipod is fine actually??? not sure why it wasnt charging with my firewire power brick before, but it seems to charge fine with my old hp pavilion!!
it has games too! fun fact this thing runs linux under the hood and this menu is defined by an xml file somewhere. theoretically i could add my own things here
