Love that Gotham was just a basic fill in city name in 1930s media. And then Batman randomly used it and the term has become that City Idea sparked by watching Baby Face (1933) and they go to “Gotham Trust”

A novel with the test “The Gatsby Gambit”. It has green and black ribbons with half a woman’s face with a teardrop earring. It is by Claire Anderson-Wheeler. Also part of a Winnie-the-Pooh tattoo based on Disney’s design can be seen to the left.

Black-and-white comic strip by Floyd Gottfredson featuring Minnie Mouse’s father as a farmer. In the first panel, he drives a tractor pulling a large haystack under a full moon, saying, “By gum! I can’t understand why we didn’t get any eggs last night—sure tough when we’re dependin’ on ’em to tide us through this season of poor crops!” In the second panel, he and another farmer feed pigs, and he continues, “Couldn’t ’a come at a worse time, either—what with interest on the mortgage due, the mowin’ machine t’ pay for, and Minnie’s education t’ worry about—” In the third panel, he walks toward the chicken coop with a lantern, puzzled: “’S funny, too—I never heard of a whole flock of hens t’ all quit layin’ at once—sure hope it ain’t happened again tonight!” In the final panel, he opens the coop and exclaims, “Well, I’ll be gol durned—what d’ja know about that!
