LGBTQ+ history dude (He/Him) 🌈 Research, Tours & Escape Rooms. Mermaid lover. Lifts heavy things for attention.
It's taken me 39 years to condense it down, but I'm basically attracted to men who look like this or this...
So I bloody love this: This is in the men's baths and it is a boardgame built into the rim of a large bath. Two men could play together whilst bathing! Yes, I know I know... Byzantine Greece was a different world, no homo, blah blah, but come on!!! Naked board game gays!!! /5
Less fun: This partial mosaic shows the young man Ganymede being taken away by Zeus in eagle form. A slightly archaic English mistranslation of the Greek label calls this 'rape', which based on the story is actually more accurate... 4/
Next... more homoerotic than full queer (I'll let you decide) but in his fancy Roman villa the man of the house wanted to have his two favourite gladiators depicted shirtless and oiled up on the floor... Margarites and Ellenikos (The Greek) are both named which is also cool and rare. 3/
First. Achilles the ancient Greek hero... in full drag! He was raised hidden amongst a group of daughters disguised as a young woman. Here he is in a full gown and fancy jewellery, kicking off his sandals and throwing down his spindle! Big reveal!!! ✨️2/
Not one, not two, not three, but four (kinda) queer finds whilst walking around ancient Kourion archaeological site in Cyprus!! Come see!! (A thread) 1/
Since becoming a moderately bigger boy my body has become such an unmitigated drama queen in the heat! Heat rash... full blown heat rash! Are we now allergic to our own sweat?! Is this really what we're doing?!!
Doing some of my favourite tours again at the beautiful @dulwichgallery.bsky.social on Thursday! But please stay cool it's going to be bloody boiling; tank tops and oversized water bottles encouraged! Tickets are free, but please book ahead X www.dulwichpicturegallery.org.uk/whats-on/out...
A beautiful weekend in Wales... but we may have already resorted to flower pot squats!
Alzheimer's has taken a lot from us but me and dad can still sit outside and listen to the Eurythmics.
I shall hang it next to my next piece, this message I just got on LinkedIn.
The Evening Standard website unintentionally creating a piece of Dadaist art
Improv has seriously made my life so much better... I am positively evangelical about it! Love these wonderful dingdongs. X
Queer history tour in sweltering Central London? Completed it mate! (This was the original Pink Pony Club; The location of the Caravan Club on Endell Street. Raided and closed down by police in 1934)
It's really warming up!!! Time to grab all the books you own that sound or look even slightly cold and hide till the sun forgives us for our bad behaviour.
