Starting up on Issue 2 of Murder of Crows (which @thewien.bsky.social wrote!) I am doing thumbnails because I did not do them for issue one and suffered. I have a full-time not-comic job so that is challenging. I always letter first and that works well.

BABY LIPSTICK #1 #art #comics

[CAPTION: Remember, O Princess, the warrior who was so skilled in the arts of fighting that it seemed as a gift bestowed upon her by the Gods...When she was born, her lips seemed stained by the blood of the enemies she would face...and defeat. She is..BABY LIPSTICK!] The first three panels show a baby who looks like it's wearing lipstick, a young girl defeating an older boy in a play sword fight while a crowd looks on, and a young lady with an axe standing in front of a frescoed wall. The last panel is large and shows a mountain village of tents surrounded by a makeshift fence. Baby Lipstick stands in the foreground and says, "Ah, hope yon village has a place to rest my weary head...and if there be a chance to earn some gold, all the better!"

Panel 1: Baby Lipstick slides down the hill. Panel two: A shepherd of a very odd-looking sheep stands outside the fence and says "Ho there, stranger!" Baby Lipstick is in the foreground with her back to us. She replies, "Ho there, friend! Might there be work for a warrior in your village?" Panel three is a close-up of the shepherd, who is a young man in a head scarf. He replies, "Aye, miss, there is! I'll bring you to the village elder." In panel 4 Baby Lipstick sits, with her back to the viewer, in the tent of the village elder, a very old man with a bald head(but long hair) and a long beard. They sit on rugs on the floor and a basket with a carafe of wine sits between them. They both hold cups of wine. The elder says, "Surely you have been sent by the Gods! The sorcerer on the mount sends his inhuman golems against us..." In the next panel the angle is switched. The elder says, "We are but a small village, but we can pay one hundred gold for that wizard's head!" Baby Lipstick drinks her wine and says, "Well, I've never known a wizard can do magic without his head!" In the sixth panel Baby Lipstick holds a bag of gold and waves, "Worry not, uncle! I'll soon return with yon wizard's head-" The elder, head downcast, says "Mithra be with you..." the next panel is a closeup of the elder's head and he says to the shepherd, "Tavga, watch for the carrion birds soon - for no warrior has gone against the wizard's golems - and lived!" In the last panel Baby Lipstick is walking up with her axe out and saying, "I hear something ahead! Golems, eh? They may be fierce against a mere shepherd...but we'll see how they fare against the blade of my axe!"

Page three, panel one: A creepy Thing in a black cloak appears on the mountain path. It's screaming "WREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" We can only see that it has three phalanges on both hand and foot and so it is shuffling along. Baby Lipstick says, "Hope that's a prayer to your Gods, golem-" in the next panel she swings her axe and says, "-For your unholy existence ends now!" In the third panel Baby Lipstick looks disgusted and exclaims, "Golden Mother!" (this is an epitaph of Anahita). The fourth panel shows that the golem is a weird animated banana, writhing on the path, cut in half. Baby Lipstick has never seen a banana in life, so she just says, "Truly, this is sorcery most foul!" [CAPTION: And so, Baby Lipstick continues up the Wizard's Mountain.] We have then four panels of Baby Lipstick killing banana golems with her axe. On the right side of the page is a long panel done in a video game style showing her ascent up the mountain to the cave where the wizard lives.

Here are some cartoons of me. In the first one I am wearing a hoodie and some pants and saying "Your mother said y'all can't sit inside and play DOOM all day." Word balloons from children off panel say, "We're not!!" "It's Perfect Dark!!" I reply, "That's what I said but she doesn't know the difference. Now go get your cousin's bag of spray paint". Four off panel cousins yell, "ART TIME!!!"
In the next cartoon i am talking on one of those clear Conair phones which are hard to draw in black and white. I am saying, "Whaddya MEAN you saw your kids on CCTV on the news tagging walls??? We were at home playing DOOM!...Well, which is WORSE, dummy?"

i have bought two friends custom gameboys but i do not have a custom gameboy. i am thinking about getting one but idk how much i would use it. anyway i used to have this chair. #sketchbook #comics #comeek #cartoon

this is a cartoon of me in pencil. I am holding a telephone with a cord in one hand and a lollipop in the other and saying "your mother owes me a chair shaped like a high heel. charge it to her card and in the memo line write 'Eidi'." (Eidi is a gift you give someone on Eid and it is usually money in an envelope)

this is a cartoon of me in pencil playing a gameboy on my high heel chair that was purchased with someone's radiologist money. i am thinking, "Lousy jerk". Then there is a phone ringing sound effect (which is presumably someone calling about why their children bought a $200 high heel chair with their credit card), a closeup of some gameboy playing "gameboyyyyy", and some text that says "oh no who could be angrily calling me". also on this page is some squiggly handwriting which was me testing pencils.

This is a watercolour piece in blues. The top horizontal panel reads {LIKE A TEMPLE.} there are three long vertical panels: one with stars in white and gold, the second with one person reaching up to kiss an off-panel person who is reaching for them, and the last with a sunrise in white and gold. The last horizontal panel reads {BATEI MIDRASH.}, which is a hall dedicated for Torah study.
