🎂 #BOTD in 1913 is actor, artist & comedian Red Skelton. Best known as host of The Red Skelton show, Skelton believed his life’s work was to make people laugh. In 1987, Skelton received the SAG Life Achievement Award & was inducted into both the Television & Radio Hall of Fame.
The DGA, SAG-AFTRA and the WGA issued the following joint statement in response to a decision by the Emmys to remove award categories from the live broadcast.
Ranked 8th on the American Film Institute’s list of greatest male stars of the Golden Age: James Cagney, #BOTD in 1899. His legacy is everlasting. For his service to the union as the 6th president of the Screen Actors Guild, Cagney received the SAG Life Achievement Award in 1977.
