46. Hades II It's a weird thing to say that this is "just more Hades" when it's literally the next entry but I mean that for all its pros and cons. I ran into the same issue as its predecessor where this game just burns me out too quickly before I reach a satisfying conclusion. 7/10
45. The Bear There are some genuine 10/10 episodes in the show overall but it kinda lost momentum with the wait for season 5. Has a lot of ups and downs but remains entertaining and anxiety inducing at the same time. Nice to see it get proper closure with the final season. YES CHEF 👨🍳👩🍳 7/10
44. Gnosia (Anime) Honestly just didn't hit the same as the game. While I think the adaptation is good, there's just too much lost in the process for me. The atmosphere and cohesion created with the game's character designs, backgrounds, and music didn't carry over here. 6/10
43. Kara no Shoujo: The Second Episode They were not lying about this one folks. Peak Innogrey. Narrative masterclass in weaving together the mysteries of the past into the present, as its characters yearn for atonement in a story spanning decades set against the backdrop of wartime Japan. 9.5/10
42. Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo More people gotta watch this. It's so visually striking and engaging without being overbearing. The mix of drama between manipulation, yearning, and revenge creates such a captivating atmosphere where you can't help but anticipiate what happens next. 8/10
rewatched the xenoblade genesis trailer and i love the character designs... but also in a world where we see Cinematic Movie Game being developed by every major studio, it speaks volumes how monolith soft is still at the peak of art direction and environmental design
41. Kobato Been a while since I watched a CLAMP adaptation and honestly I didn't know this existed for the longest time. Very campy and wholesome 🥹 also Kobato has cute outfits 👍 7/10
40. Final Fantasy XI: Rise of the Zilart This expansion is where it felt like the game had finally begun. Unfortunately like the rest of it so far, tedious quest design is where most of my time was spent. The last few missions were cool though and gave me hope for the rest. 6/10
39. The Climber I had high hopes for this but it just falls short in a lot of areas. I think the author tried to do too many things at once here and I don't really know what the take-away is meant to be. I also hope he never writes women again 🙏 6/10
38. Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe Everyone is miserable. Hathaway you need to jerk off. 10/10
37. FFXIV: Heavensward (recap + patch msq) Re-experienced the story through the in-game cutscene viewer since it's been a while. Enjoyed the story more this time around. I think the strife between its characters and factions is great, but its overall view on the class struggle was lacking. 7/10
36. Given (+ movies, ovas, specials) A little all over the place with its entries. I would have liked the series to focus on the main two and delve into the music side even more. I think the underlying narrative of Mafuyu coming to terms with his past was nice though. 6/10
35. Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse Paranormasight has carved out this unique space for itself as an adventure game series that really excels at creating an atmosphere in which I feel compelled to actively solve its mysteries. A little heavy on the lore dump, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. 8/10
34. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island I was hoping this would be a breakthrough in the series for me but like nearly every mario game, I lost interest halfway through. The level designs are beautiful though and I like the soundtrack. 6/10
33. Fate/strange Fake I never thought a Fate adaptation would get me this excited as I've mostly been lukewarm on the franchise as a whole, but strange fake rekindled the feelings of when I first watched Zero in my teens. Pacing is a little rough but the fact that this exists is a miracle. 8/10
