tonight's movie was "Running Scared" released on this day July 27 in 1986, starring Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal as two Chicago detectives trying to take down wannabe drug lord Jimmy Smits. Hines & Crystal are soo good of a team. Shame they didn't do another movie. But, this one is perfect.

I almost never buy Star Wars action figures anymore, but when I do, they're usually from the cast of Rebels Here we have the Vintage Collection versions of Zeb and Chop (in his Imperial Disguise that would fool no one that was actually looking) From a May the Fourth sale, arrived today.

Star Wars The Vintage Collection 3.75" scale action figures of (l-r) Chopper (Imperial Disguise) [a squat astromech droid akin to R2-D2, with mismatched legs, washtub-shaped head (with arms coming out the sides, and a radar dish on top) and a caster cheel underneath; painted in white and very dark gray, withe a red stripe around the top of the head, and one coming down across his leftmost eye. Every time i see some term with an 'e' in front to make it look computery (and this includes email) all I can think of is "All the G-news that's good g-news, with Gary Gnu" from "The Great Space Coaster" (get on board!)

Gary Gnu, an anthropomorphic puppet character with green skin, sorta red hair with gray streaks to make him look more distinguished I guess, a wide chin-beard kinda like a real gnu, wearing a pink turtleneck and magenta suit-coat, has a distressed look on his face, looking wide-eyed off to viewers right, holding a sheaf of papers in one hand and gesturing with the other. Must not be good gnews.

These are called "Droidables", there's several of them, these guys are my favorites (and all I got) You tilt their head in any direction and they make noises. Sometimes Chopper will say something without being futzed with, which is hilarious to me Tonight I learned R2 has a secret message

ワンダフルライフ, Wandafuru Raifu ("Wonderful Life") AKA "After Life" in the U.S. (1998) Japanese. The recently deceased must choose a single memory to take with them into eternity, which is (cheaply) recreated by social worker staff. Can't decide? You join the staff.

I live in Maine and was done with this guy the moment he claimed not to know the tattoo was a Nazi symbol. his public meetings are the opposite of everything in his history, making it plain it's a performance, and yet the general public still thinks he's a worthy candidate. and he comes from wealth.

"Little Dee" by Christopher Baldwin (also creator of Spacetrawler and several other webcomics) ran from about 2004 to 2010. For part of that it was on GoComics. It's about a little family in the woods: a bear, a dog, a vulture, and a little lost human girl (who doesn't speak) named Dee.

"You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Sampler" by Frank Zappa Zappa was all-in on the CD format, did this series of live collections (6 double CD albums); and to entice the cassette-buying public to switch, made this sampler. it's now a rare collectors item. (mine developed a squeak and I tossed it.)

While working from home today I'm semi organizing to re-sort books i got over 2025 in with 2024's so I'm better off when i finally can shelve them I measured the rows. I have about 150 inches of unshelved TPB books (comics, fiction, nonfiction), which is about 6 shelves or 2 bookcases.
