Just further proof that the best way to see an incredibly rare car is to go for a bike ride.

Why not lay the groundwork for electrified CitiBike stations at the corner while you dig up the power cabling for streetlights? Why not start embedding power points to allow street vendors to ditch their generators? Why don't we make the streets *better* while we already have to spend this money?

A hatch is open on a paved area near a small stone curb. The underside of the hatch has various electrical plugs and controls allowing for power cables to be connected. Several of the ports have power cables connected that lead off screen.

Here’s the interior of the Concorde that chased an eclipse. You can see the holes they cut in the roof for observations.

Work on the Flatbush Avenue bike lanes continues at a rapid pace.

Not sure what neighborhood you live in, but the Furman Center's map of commute modeshare shows that every neighborhood that is getting trash containers has more than 85% car-free commutes (that is, even if households own a car, they don't use it to get to work).

Of course, on the way home I saw the NYPD’s opinion of a “safe” street. Illegally parked, blocking a bike lane, illegal lift, illegal tints, illegal poke.

A large white pickup truck sits obstructing a bike lane inside of a quick curb, which is designed to dissuade cars from parking in a space. The vehicle is clearly lifted, has wheels and tires, which extend beyond the body, and has illegal tints.

NYPD are ruining Summer Streets. They’ve transformed a shared open space into one of constant conflict between walkers and bikers. Every intersection now looks like this: a narrow gap that *forces* cycles and pedestrians to interact dangerously, merging at an acute angle.

Tired of these cyclists riding the wrong way in the bike lane and constantly disrespecting the law and others’ safety.

I mean... I personally output a peak of about 900W so... On a serious note, while an individual rider might not need 750W continuous (though I think that's debatable), lots of different types of bikes *do* need that many watts.

Is this NYC’s first head-height bike light? Not on yet, but there’s another for the northbound lanes still covered in sackcloth.
