I’m an old person who lives in New England. I have gone back to my love of painting animals and pet portraits. Website: sandraolsonart.com. Email: solson14@verizon.net Fierce supporter of democracy, equality, truth and reality. No DMs.
One might think that this photo show how much Yoshi adores her humans. But the real story was that she was waiting for me to finish a slice of pizza so she could have the “pizza stick”….the crust! One of her favorite things. Happy Sunday!
I should have known! Longer fur, wider face. I think I saw a black dog and automatically assumed it was Thunder. ❤️. I get it though, I still have Bella on my screen.
Hi folks, here is a just completed painting of a red stag. I haven’t painted a deer in ages so it was time. 11x14 inches painted in acrylics. I’ll frame it shortly and get it posted to my website. If any one is interested in this painting or a commission, send me a DM. Thanks!
I don’t normally post work in process paintings. This one still has a way to go. It’s been so long since I posted any art I thought I should really post something, even if it isn’t finished. I think I will probably call it “first light” Thanks!
I didn’t realize it until I saw a number of posts….its National Rescue Dog Day. Here’s Yoshi!
Hi everyone! I know things are tough right now for all of us. Just in case you need a special gift for yourself or someone else, I want to remind folks that my commissions are open for pet portraits. Here’s an example of a few that I’ve done. Tap on photo for full picture. Thanks!
I’m a little late to it but I hear today is National Pet Day. So here’s the center of our universe, Yoshi. The only Bernese Mountain dog who refuses to be brushed and refuses to take a bath, yikes!
Happy National Puppy Day. This is the day that we picked up Yoshi from the shelter. She was turning on the charm (not that she needed to)
Good morning Thunder! Yoshi wants to know if you will be her valentine. ❤️
Just completed this commission of a friends dog named Luna. Sadly they lost her about a year ago. She loved hiking so that’s where I’ve depicted her. She was such a beautiful girl. 9x12 inches done in acrylics on Gessobord. Thank you.
Hey fellow dog owners, especially Bernese Mountain Dog owners, my dog is afraid of the snow! Anyone else encounter this? We haven’t had more than a few inches at a time for maybe 4 years here in MA. Now it’s up to my knees. She’s 3 so she’s never seen this. Photos from when we had inches.
She is indeed spectacular. Is this also the little kitty before she joined Skinnerville? I’ve always wondered. And yes, I do have a file of Patrick photos in case I need them.
@atlantadem.bsky.social Here’s another commission that was gifted over Christmas. I’m happy to say it was well received! Here’s Wesley and Winnie all snuggled up. Thanks for taking a look!
I mentioned in a prior post that we always had a big Christmas tree until we got Yoshi. Our dog before we got Yoshi, we had a Bernese Mountain dog named Bella. One of her favorite places to sleep was under the tree. She was a very big female but she managed to get under the tree.
Good morning everyone. One of my holiday commissions has been gifted so I am able to post it. A beautiful German Shepherd named Suzy-Q in the misty hills of New Hampshire. 9x12 inches, done in acrylics. Thanks for looking!
We gave up having a big Christmas tree when we adopted Yoshi. As you can see, she believes all trees will eventually become branches that are her property. We do have a table top tree that has my annual splurge of Swarovski ornaments. Not colorful but we kinda like it. Happy holiday season!
Final pet painting mailed out for the holidays. Once again, it’s a Christmas gift so won’t be posting a photo until January. In the meantime, here are two of my all time favorite paintings of the wild horses of Salt River in Arizona. (still available)
Haven’t posted for ages. Had some health issues to deal with but the worst is behind me. I’m working on a few commissions but they are holiday gifts so under wraps until January. In the meantime here’s a painting I did of our dog Bella who we sadly lost about 4 years ago.
Love it. When my neighbors moved they asked if we would take over feeding the squirrels and chipmunks. This lovely lady lets me know if I’m late putting out almonds for them.
It’s International dog day and tongue out Tuesday. It’s a two for one with Yoshi.
Good morning, The last of my Wild Horses of America series are currently marked 50% off. Gotta make some wall space! Check out my website and let me know if something is of interest. I can get a shipping estimate prior to purchase using your zip code. Thanks! sandraolsonart.com
I hope things calm down for you soon. I’ve been meaning to ask about your mom. Both Izzy and Thunder look very comfortable with mom. Yoshi, Mark and I send you our love ❤️
Just a quick note to let you know that my commissions are now open!! It’s not too early to think about a gift of a pet portrait for yourself or someone else for the holidays! I’ve included a few portraits I’ve done below. Details are on my website: sandraolsonart.com Thanks!
It’s been about a billion degrees and so humid that I swear I live in The tropics not New England. Thought I would post one of the few snow paintings I painted so I could cool my brain off a little. Love our backyard critters
@repmcgovern.bsky.social @markey.senate.gov I received this from Social Security this morning. Very surprised, is it real, is any of it true?? I say sarcastically to the creators of this disastrous bill…does this mean I might hold off eviction while i figure out about losing my Medicare?
I had a moment last night where I was overwhelmed with the thought that the bad guys are winning. Tough one for someone like me who grew up truly believing that good triumphs over evil. I thought I would take a minute for cute. We have lots of rabbits in the back, here’s two I painted.
A number of years ago I was able to get permission from an incredible photographer in the Czech Republic to paint some of their white deers. They seemed so magical to me. I think it’s time to paint some more of them. Thanks!
