He's doing a really good job of turning RHBs into paste and doesn't seem to give much back against LHBs, though they have seen much better results on contact than you would expect. Seems like a good candidate for the no-name relief army every team is trying to raise.
What does he have to complain about? He already got the entire rest of the world to back his paper fortune.
I don't think this is quite the rip it's being made out to be. Before factoring in that the player involved who is a pitcher is currently dealing with an elbow injury.
I don't know how much you need to give up to go from this to that, but I'd think not much would be the only way I'd think all that long about it.
I got off the Bleday bus around this time last year. Seems like a good opportunity for CIN to earn some arbitrage from a team that needs help against RHP.
Here's my Brewers report. By my calcs, Reid Detmers would be the second best pitcher on this club, and I think he would be a great fit for a club that has shown they can unlock talent other orgs merely broke picks upon.
The defense has played so well, which is why they will continue to tolerate inconsistent offense at SS & CF, that it kind of overshadows that the pitching has been more serviceable than excellent. It's more likely the team trades for a guy they view as a mid-rotation starter than Luis Arraez.
TB offensive performers compared to Arraez, Jeffers & Ward. All three would improve the offense, but only the latter two vLHP, which has been a significant problem all season. Ward would represent a meaningful upgrade on Vilade. Jeffers would be a massive upgrade on Fortes. Luis slight over Palacios
I created a 21-week schedule for a 14 team league I run this winter and came up with the following. Stipulations were that there would be two divisions of seven teams and that teams within division would play twice with at least one game against out of division, two spilled to a second game.
He's good! And I like that he'll throw in the occasional steal. Him, Stowers, Marsee and Conine provide a solid outfield for a team people weren't falling over themselves to target. Helped create opportunity for early adopters.

I'd think they'd rather just hope to get him healthy for a postseason run. NYY would be a massive park upgrade for Devers and he has played a lot more like his old self more recently, but it's a lot of money for a long time coming his way with cliff-risk ever present on a fat guy with bad shoulders.
It's a lot of moving parts so even if the value lines up, and I'm not so sure, it would be tough to pull off in reality. 3+ years of Schmitt who's enjoying a standout season that may or may not be repeatable seems like biggest piece. I don't think enough to offset Devers. Unless Rodón is cooked...
Heliot Ramos remains interesting to me as a guy who can wallop LHP from corner OF. Occasional days off v tougher RHP facilitates a revolving platoon. Maybe pull late in some games, but not a butcher. Enters 1st of 3 arb years in 2027. Would taking on ~$8M+ owed to Robbie Ray help?
Nor does Jake Bauers, though I think he looks a little better when striking out closer to average.
Otto Lopez does not look like a fluke. A guy who knows who he is and tries to beat you at his game.
Somewhat weirdness from Pete Alonso. Steep downturn in exit velocity most recently yet expected wOBAcon showed little change and park-adjusted actual rose to meet after showing fairly wide persistent gap much of season. Looks like he's also working deeper into counts. Choice or are Ps OoZ more?
I wonder if Nick Kurtz has been dealing with this thumb thing for a bit. Trends mostly fell off a cliff starting 50+ PA ago.
