AI sucks, here’s something I made with my two hands. Thrifted J.Crew linen/cotton tank upcycled with hand embroidered art Nouveau motif.
I’ve seen mailcarriers approaching our porch give Zuko the exact same wary look that Odysseus and his men give that lion on Circe’s island.
I started working on it late last summer and then got bored and set it aside when it got cold out. Promised myself I’d finish it with enough time to wear this summer.
AI sucks, here’s something I made with my own two hands. Television fandom blazer, hand embroidered on thrifted linen blazer.
Zuko long haired and Babou short hair. Zuko was a neighborhood stray who moved in during the pandemic, been with us 5 years. Babou is 12 but also just a little baby guy. Bruce love of my life, gone 2 years, with Babou who also loved him very much.
Here’s a video I took so you can see how the threading and the eyes catch the light. The eye are swarovski crystals I got at The Resource Exchange in Philly.
I’m so proud of this piece I could cry. I’ve only done a tiny bit of stump work embroidery before and nothing like this. This cicada will be part of a larger piece that I will share when it’s done. Truly can’t believe how well it turned out.
Things got a little silly today. “Once more onto the breach, dear friends, once more!”
I made Barnaby (left) a friend! (Right) Her name is Cecily 🥹 I don’t know why but I felt they needed the names of aristocratic Victorian children, but that is what happened 🤷♀️
Post one (1) photo of a painting that you took with your very own hands.
Honored to have been a part of this project. Link is to an open access article. #EarlyModern #ThomasKyd #AcademicSky muse.jhu.edu/pub/1/articl...
Cannot express how pleased I am with now this has turned out. Now to work on the other half of the book…
I’d say it is now roughly 80% complete. This is fast becoming one of my favorite pieces to date, it’s just so beautifully coming to life exactly as I’d imagined. #handembroidery
Had the luxury of spending most of my day listening to podcasts and working on this. #handembroidery #WIP
Very pleased to share that the chicks of the ravens roosting on a campus building have hatched and will likely be ready to fledge within the week. Obsessed with them 🖤
This is a cat checkpoint. Relinquish your most recent cat picture from your phone.
Friday: can’t wait to sleep in and then spend Saturday working on various creative projects Arya at 4am Saturday morning: hold my beer! I’m gonna puke off and on for the next 3 hours. So we spent the morning at the vet. She got anti nausea meds and is feeling much better, we’re all exhausted.
There’s a raven on campus, not common for our part of the US, and I’m delighted.
I love this little old lady very much. If she was in fact two when we adopted her, then she is now 17 years old. She has kidney disease and no teeth, but she’s still playful and very demanding of attention. Living her best life bossing everyone around.
Everything is terrible and scary so here is nearly a full minute of Babou doing an epic blep.

Minimalist embroidery gift for a dear friend of their two cats. #handembroidery
We went from a few 70°-80° days in a row, back to chilly temps and Babou has been feeling extra needy.
Me (right) and my sister (left). I am a freshman in highschool, on the varsity soccer team, 5'9" tall, and already lying about my weight bc society had taught me that 130-40lbs, which is what I was in high school, is fat despite all evidence to the contrary. I was strong, healthy, and an athlete.
I'm so proud and honored to have had this piece selected by Philadelphia's The Resource Exchange's reCreate Gallery. It will be on display from March 7th to May 27th. theresourceexchange.org/recreate-art...
