Sharing once more.

“I don’t normally ask for help like this, and I feel embarrassed and stupid asking in this case- lots of people are struggling right now, and things could be worse. That being said, I am reaching out to my community for support with a veterinary hospitalization and surgery for my cat Snoopy (government name “Trooper”— he prefers to go by his nickname. :)).

Poor little Snoop has been suffering with ongoing pain and problems urinating over the last 5-6 months. He blocked once and was hospitalized back in May. He’s been on prescription food and pain management ever since, but despite this, he re-blocked last week. He’s been at the emergency vet over the weekend and is going into surgery today for a surgery that will make it harder for him to block in the future. The cost of the surgery is almost $10,000. I’m going to make it happen because Snoop is my baby and it’s my responsibility to ensure he has as good and long of a life as possible.

Any help at all is so greatly appreciated. I’m humbled and so, so grateful for everyone who has sent thoughts, donated, or shared Snoop’s story. Please send thoughts as we go into a long recovery process. Hopefully this will allow Snoop to have a healthy and long life. 🖤”

Zuko long haired and Babou short hair. Zuko was a neighborhood stray who moved in during the pandemic, been with us 5 years. Babou is 12 but also just a little baby guy. Bruce love of my life, gone 2 years, with Babou who also loved him very much.

I’m so proud of this piece I could cry. I’ve only done a tiny bit of stump work embroidery before and nothing like this. This cicada will be part of a larger piece that I will share when it’s done. Truly can’t believe how well it turned out.

The same fully embroidered cicada now cut out to stand alone, held in a hand. It is roughly life sized.

Stump work cicada body and wings attached. The body is embroidered with red swarovski crystals for eyes. Its wings are embroidered on silk organza so that the black space between the veining in the wings is sheer.

Things got a little silly today. “Once more onto the breach, dear friends, once more!”

Two book hedgehogs are just off center slightly angled in towards each other. The hedgehog on the right is about 1/3 the size of the one on the right. They are on top of a grey metal office shelf, in the left background is a small parlor palm in a blue pot. On the right a lamp with a neutral shade and turquoise ceramic base. Buckle up because now it gets weird…weirder? A batgirl figure sits astride the hedgehog on the left a fist raised in the air. In the background between the hedgehogs is a miniature purple version of those big tube “dancing guys” they have outside of car dealerships.

Abstract

In 2023–24, the authors led a year-long study of Thomas Kyd’s influential Elizabethan revenge drama, The Spanish Tragedy, at Villanova University. The project included an interdisciplinary grad-undergrad course, guest artists, a scholarly symposium, and a full-scale production with accompanying website. In this article, the authors reflect on the logistics of planning and executing this project within a university framework, situating the work of students, faculty, artists, and other partners within the larger community of the university. In doing so, this article reflects on the project’s achievements and the core underpinning principles and support that projects of this scale might emulate.

Friday: can’t wait to sleep in and then spend Saturday working on various creative projects Arya at 4am Saturday morning: hold my beer! I’m gonna puke off and on for the next 3 hours. So we spent the morning at the vet. She got anti nausea meds and is feeling much better, we’re all exhausted.

I love this little old lady very much. If she was in fact two when we adopted her, then she is now 17 years old. She has kidney disease and no teeth, but she’s still playful and very demanding of attention. Living her best life bossing everyone around.

There are already strict laws in place preventing anyone who is not a citizen from voting in federal elections. These bills aren’t about election security—they are a blatant voter suppression tactic designed to make it harder for millions of eligible Americans to register and vote.

Me (right) and my sister (left). I am a freshman in highschool, on the varsity soccer team, 5'9" tall, and already lying about my weight bc society had taught me that 130-40lbs, which is what I was in high school, is fat despite all evidence to the contrary. I was strong, healthy, and an athlete.
