My WFRP players decided that since their boat keeps getting weird cultists coming round they'd buy a guard dog. They learned about the Grootscher Marsh Hound and IMMEDIATELY decided this was a newfie. They even searched the internet for an image and saved me the work. Anyway this is Kemperbad 🐕

"The Grootscher Marsh Hound, or Westerlander, is a large but furry beast, particularly suited to the marshlands of the northern Empire. Its thick fur makes it resilient to the cold and its large paws make it an excellent swimmer. They are used for stalking waterfowl and have even been known to dive for fish."

A massive black Newfoundland dog, furry and shaggy. It's sitting on a hexagon-paved surface, in what can only be described as a derpy manner. It's looking straight at the camera with its tongue hanging out of the left side of its mouth, with a stare that suggests "no thoughts, only vibes". Despite its size it's a serene and gentle creature and I kinda wish I could be one.

Ah no, John Blanche was an absolute legend. I was lucky enough to get to Warhammer World late last year for a friend's stag (yes, absolute nerds) and his work stands out across decades. I particularly loved his March of the Undead Diorama from the year I was born, really nailed Warhammer Fantasy.

The combination of fine details and overall story in this Diorama make it feel like one of John's illustrations come to life.

The diorama referenced in the plaquard. The scene is a river crossing by a waterfall with a horde of zombies crossing a rickety rope bridge (and many falling off) while more simply wade through the water to the side. In the background are necromancers and a few other types of Undead miniature. There's a painting to simulate distant mountains shrouded in mist. Far too many details to describe, but each of the nearly hundred zombies is unique. It's amazing.
