When you book a ferry from UK to NL, you are clearly shown harbour tax as well as environmental taxes (latter is 45 euro for a family of 4). When you book a flight from UK to NL you are being congratulated on your children no longer having to pay Airport Passenger Duty 🔥🌎 @flightfreeuk.bsky.social
Kidical Mass in Bath today 🎉 We are calling for safer streets! #streetsforkids
Throwback to the June #kidicalmass Bath 🤩 Join us on Sunday for the last ride before the summer holidays. 📅 Sun 19 July 🕒 2pm 📍 Orange Grove (next to the Abbey) Whether you're riding solo, with grandkids, with your own kids, or just want safer streets, come along!
Wherever we go people stop us and ask us about our cargo bike. Yesterday's question: "Can it go on the road?!" (we were parked at the local supermarket). The two ladies who asked us were genuinely stunned when I stepped on the bike and rode away. Never a dull day with a cargo bike!!
We covered our south facing windows with tin foil during the heatwave but one batch had a silly coating of some sort which means our windows are now covered in this. I've tried water, window cleaner, vinegar is next...
Having a partner with a PhD in comp sci is useful sometimes 😅 He has been making mazes on demand for our maize-obsessed 8 yr old.
Karen Gee @cyclesprog.bsky.social and I were both hoping to attend @cleancitiescampaign.org Curious Cities Assembly for the 2nd day tomorrow, but the irony is that it’s too hot to travel... We need less traffic and tarmac, more trees and plants, wider pavements, more cycle lanes & seating.
Our school is asking 150+ parents/carers to drive to school at noon, even if they live a short walk away. I know it's hot but driving is not the solution... P.s. We don't own a car and I'm not picking her up by cargo bike 😜
There is literally a pub car park a few metres away where parents can park 🙄 #streetsforkids
I completely forgot to post this sooner 🙄 it's TODAY!! 🚲 Kidical Mass Bath – June edition! 📅 Sunday 14th June ⏰ 2PM 📍 Orange Grove (next to the Abbey) Join us for a joyful ride calling for safer streets – for everyone who believes cycling should be safe for all ages and abilities 🎶🫧🎉
I led a small big ride for Palestine in Bath today and this was my very old school method for way finding. Worked a treat! Free Palestine ✌️ 🇵🇸
These 3 new cycle stands will make a massive difference in our local park (Alice Park). There are currently 4 cycle stands on the other side of the hedge so these will increase capacity and security due to visibility.
Larkhall Festival was amazing today! Lots more to see and do tomorrow: larkhallfestival.com/schedule?day=4
Yes, it's the junction with Gloucester Road. The new raised crossing will be built on the junction of London Road/Lambridge Street.
Our route to the park. Photo taken years ago but the route is still scary. Soon to be changed though with a continuous crossing and an extension of the 20mph speed limit 🙌
Another very joyful Kidical Mass ride in Bath 🎉 What do we want: safer streets! When do we want them: now!
These rides are free, inclusive, and open to everyone; from toddlers on balance bikes to adults on trikes. They’re also a powerful way of showing demand for safer streets. 3/8
Kidical Mass rides are those joyful, slightly chaotic, always brilliant family cycle rides you’ve probably seen popping up everywhere. They’re about one simple idea: kids should be able to travel safely by bike. 2/8
🚲 There’s a new crowdfunder to support Kidical Mass rides across the UK, and it’s one of those small things that quietly makes a big difference. 👇 www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/km-insurance Image credit: @jamiebellinger.com 1/8
22nd Bike Bus at Bathampton Primary this morning 🙌 Thanks to @bicyclemayorbath.bsky.social for joining us! #fridedays
Building on the fantastic work by @playingout.bsky.social I've put playing out on the agenda for Bath and North East Somerset Council tonight 🙌 democracy.bathnes.gov.uk/ieListDocume... Let's get more children playing, more of the time!
What a brilliant @playingout.bsky.social conference today! Children's right to play is more important than ever. Let's make sure that more (all!) children can play, more of the time.
📢 Kidical Mass Bath is back! 🚲 FB event page: fb.me/e/dbfo6dvXv Join us for a family-friendly cycle ride to celebrate cycling and call for safer streets. Let's show that we want to cycle and we need safe spaces to do so! 🗓️ Sunday 19 April ⏰ 2PM 📍 Orange Grove (next to the Abbey)
