When you KNOW that the set dressers for a movie did their fricken homework. Here the character is drinking tea in Louisiana in 1995. I bought the glass in picture on the right at a Walmart in Cleveland, MS in 1995. It's the only one of the set of 4 that I have left.

Do we want to continue to have one of the largest urban forest reserves in the entire country, or do we want more fucking data centers? @mayorkwilson.bsky.social this is absolutely vile, and a huge betrayal of the will of the voters and citizens of Portland, who treasure this natural resource.

As part of the agreement, PGE has also agreed to regularly meet with the city to discuss future utility work within Forest Park and to pay $250,000 for the city to hire an independent consultant to advise it on that process.

That provision acknowledges that the current transmission project is just one phase in a multi-phase plan. PGE has said future phases could disturb an additional 15 acres in Forest Park and would be needed to provide more power to Hillsboro’s data centers. And although those phases would require separate city approvals, opponents fear greenlighting the current phase will pave the way for future transmission upgrades — and additional tree removal — in the park.

You should go to the Chinese Garden this month. There's a Lotus Festival on. There's events all month, story times, tours, art shows, tea tastings, caligraphy demos. At the end of the month (24-26) there is a local art market. And in a few weeks, you may see my beaded jewelry there for sale!

I'm calling these flautadillas. Steak and roasted sweet peppers and poblanos, and a blend of queso chihuahua and cheddar. Going on a margarita bike ride today that said to also bring margarita adjacent snacks, so these will be cooled and cut in half and wrapped for easy picnic style eating.

Hoya blooms don't look real. They're also hard to photograph because they're upside down on my hoya.

I am starting a cooking adventure. I plan on learning a lot, fucking up, doing better, and expanding my cooking vocabulary to way more vegan things. First up! Shepherds Pie (with mushrooms and herbs I grew), Stir Fry Tofu and Broccoli, Rainbow Rice Noodle Salad with (not too) spicy peanut sauce.

I recently read "Life After Cars" and this section about political will really stood out to me. I am no longer giving my votes or my money to politicians who care about reelection, I'm giving it to politicians who care about the cities they run. Because they can do whatever they want.
