Sassy Tea Lady
@sassytealady
sturdy, nerdy, wordy, dirty motivated urban left voter Oh, and I do beads. Bees? Beads! www.beadsandsundry.com (Update, I also do bees. I'm the volunteer beekeeper for Blanchet Farm.)
Toiling in the Oregon agate mines* has been fruitful. *Walking on beaches and staying in coastal B&B's.
So we're already a little creeped out, it was dark so long, and it's still silent, we're not completing the ride as normal, we have no idea what's happening, and THIS is what we're looking at. We did not ride again, even once it did reopen. /fin
When you KNOW that the set dressers for a movie did their fricken homework. Here the character is drinking tea in Louisiana in 1995. I bought the glass in picture on the right at a Walmart in Cleveland, MS in 1995. It's the only one of the set of 4 that I have left.
Do we want to continue to have one of the largest urban forest reserves in the entire country, or do we want more fucking data centers? @mayorkwilson.bsky.social this is absolutely vile, and a huge betrayal of the will of the voters and citizens of Portland, who treasure this natural resource.
You should go to the Chinese Garden this month. There's a Lotus Festival on. There's events all month, story times, tours, art shows, tea tastings, caligraphy demos. At the end of the month (24-26) there is a local art market. And in a few weeks, you may see my beaded jewelry there for sale!
Today's cooking! Spaghetti and not-meat balls, with vegan parmesan. And curried lentils and veggies (carrot, cabbage, cauliflower).
I'm calling these flautadillas. Steak and roasted sweet peppers and poblanos, and a blend of queso chihuahua and cheddar. Going on a margarita bike ride today that said to also bring margarita adjacent snacks, so these will be cooled and cut in half and wrapped for easy picnic style eating.
Because of that little reference page in the corner, this photo is giving serious "draw the rest of the owl" vibes.
Hoya blooms don't look real. They're also hard to photograph because they're upside down on my hoya.
This is everything I would regularly load into a Honda Fit to run a farmer's market.
I am starting a cooking adventure. I plan on learning a lot, fucking up, doing better, and expanding my cooking vocabulary to way more vegan things. First up! Shepherds Pie (with mushrooms and herbs I grew), Stir Fry Tofu and Broccoli, Rainbow Rice Noodle Salad with (not too) spicy peanut sauce.
I have never met someone else who could do this but you have to dry off the inside of your upper lip so that it stays stuck above your front teeth and...
(This is a post for dorks only.) FRICKEN FINALLY!!! A10 with Silent; I chose her first because of her low hit points and it's been a struggle. Now on to Regent, my least favorite character.
Some city balcony and resting hummingbird action for your one minute meditation.
This was not zoomed, I just have a chill little guy in my garden.
I'm an adult. Which means when I take a bubble bath and read 40K with candlelight, I also have popsicles.
I recently read "Life After Cars" and this section about political will really stood out to me. I am no longer giving my votes or my money to politicians who care about reelection, I'm giving it to politicians who care about the cities they run. Because they can do whatever they want.
When you really want spam and eggs, but you also really want sesame ponzu rice and spam. Featuring chives and shiitake mushrooms that I grew!
I have advanced to putting nutritional yeast on things other than popcorn, this is all @billhookunion.beanyear.com 's fault. I found the shaker of it at Breitenbush this past week and had it on cauliflower there, and it was good, so now I gotta roast cauliflower. *shakes fist at the hippies*
I'm going out of town very early Monday morning and have a lot to do and just...
Well, that's laid out, here's what qualifies as a "Disorder" call for reporting purposes for Portland's 911 call dashboard. If all of these things are getting armed PPB regular officers dispatched...why? 3/n
There's a dashboard. And here's the breakdown of calls for 2026 so far. So then I wondered "What does 'disorder' mean?" Because wow, that's most of the calls! 2/n
