It's official: I'm running for reelection. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, but we have so much more to do. We must address the challenges that Madison residents face, including the growing cost of living. I am running again to make sure Madison can meet this moment - and the next.

I was glad to join County Executive Agard and Public Health Madison Dane County on Wear Orange Day to speak out against gun violence. There is no acceptable level of gun violence in our community. Madison and Dane County are committed to breaking the cycle of violence.

The GSAFE Celebration of Leadership is one of my favorite events of the year. I was honored to present a proclamation celebrating their 30th anniversary.

Congratulations to the Wisconsin Colibri Fellows on completing their program! The fellowship prepared them to provide legal and immigration guidance to migrants so they can serve our community better. Thanks to Centro for hosting the fellowship and the Resurrection Project for creating the program.

I joined the swearing in ceremony for MPDs 2026 Academy class earlier this spring. The oath they swear calls on us to remember that we don’t enter into public service for our own gain, or to follow a particular leader - we enter into public service to uphold the founding documents of our country.

Happy Fourth of July! I had a great time this morning at the Hawk's Landing, Junction Ridge, and Orchard Ridge parades. Thanks to all the parade organizers - and participants - and to our firefighters for leading the parades. Madison has such great neighborhoods!

Students - have you gotten your free summer bus pass yet? Metro get you to lots of great summer destinations. Parents - sick of your kids asking for a ride? Get them on the bus!

It was a pleasure to meet with our local branch of the Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group. I appreciate their work advocating for our Tibetan community.

We had another great Bike Week this year - thanks to everyone who participated! Remember - we only celebrate Bike Week once a year, but Madison is great to bike in all year round, whether you're commuting to work or school, running errands, getting some exercise, or just having fun.

Thank you to the folks from the Madison Arcatao Sister City Project for delivering greetings from the leadership of Arcatao celebrating 40 years of our sister city relationship. People to people diplomacy is more important than ever.

Congress has passed the 21st Century Road to Housing Act, an investment in housing construction across the country. While this act represents an important step in the right direction, it falls far short of what is needed.

They have helped to build our booming bio health sector. They provide a platform to support innovation and help partners bring treatments to patients - creating technology that serves people. Here's to many more years of success!

As Gov. Evers said, this is a “true Wisconsin success story” - a really good example of economic development and the virtuous cycle of investment by public and private sectors that's possible when we work together. FujiFilm Cellular Dynamics has brought hundreds of jobs to Madison.

It was a great day to celebrate Country Grove Park! I was honored to help cut the ribbon on the new shelter and other improvements. Our parks are a critical part of our civic infrastructure.

Raising the Juneteenth flag over government buildings is a public declaration of our values - a visible reminder of who we are, who we honor, and the history that shaped our country. I invite every Madisonian to do their part in the work of creating a more equitable community.

I had the opportunity to spend time with our Library staff recently, and tell them how much I appreciate their work. Libraries are crucial to our education, accessing economic opportunity, and most of all to our civic life. We're lucky to have such great libraries - and library staff - in Madison!
