More than 100 people wrote to Minister Moyes calling for action on phosphorus pollution from Winnipeg’s North End sewage plant. The appeal deadline has passed, but the need for action has not. We continue to call on the Province to require phosphorus compliance. Lake Winnipeg cannot wait.
Manitobans are speaking up on Winnipeg’s sewage pollution. So far, 51 people have already written to the Minister calling for phosphorus compliance. Add your voice before the April 19 deadline. Submit your appeal through the link: www.lakewinnipegfoundation.org/take-action-winnipeg-sewage
Enough is enough. Winnipeg’s North End sewage upgrade has now been pushed to 2032. Meanwhile, phosphorus pollution continues and the existing ferric chloride system is still not being fully used. Appeal the decision before April 19. www.lakewinnipegfoundation.org/take-action-winnipeg-sewage
Happy World Water Day Grateful for Lake Winnipeg and everyone who helps protect it, care for it, and stay connected to it!
What happens when our lake can’t breathe? In Lake Winnipeg, excessive algal blooms do more than turn the water green. They contribute to fish die-offs and harm aquatic life. When fish disappear, birds and turtles struggle too. Protecting our water protects the wildlife that depends on it.
Letters are going out and momentum is building. The CEC can only review the hog industry if the Minister directs it, and that step has not been taken. Lake Winnipeg deserves transparency. Email the Minister using the link in our bio and add your voice. #LakeWinnipeg #Manitoba #CleanWater
