I prefer to go to indy places, but sometimes it’s 10 pm on a Tuesday in the suburbs and ya need a nice meal, right? Cactus Club at Sherway Gardens treated me right.

For absolutely massive Italian sandwiches you can’t beat Buon Giorno at Queensway and Islington (Toronto). It’s easy to miss but worth seeking out. They slice the meat fresh for your order; they have a hot table too.

If you’ve enjoyed yourself at Club M4 and are famished, I highly recommend The Open Cork, a couple of blocks away. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced, nice vibe and nice staff, and it’s huge so you can almost always walk in with a crowd. @lushlynn.bsky.social & I enjoyed it!

South Coast Cookhouse in Crystal Beach has become one of our faves in south Niagara. Laid back, friendly family restaurant/pub, well made and imaginative food, great cocktails and taps. REAL Long Island Iced tea, a must for my companion! Their Caesars are exceptionally fun.

Out of the Past in St. Catharines (and also in Hamilton) is an institution. Vintage and new alternative clothing and et cetera, they’ve been around for decades and always been great. St. C has long been the heart of alternative culture in Niagara.

The Bull and Firkin in the Davisville area of Toronto is a solid pub option close to our Bliss Wellness spa. The staff are great, the kitchen is good, and you can hear your conversations. I stop by after my shift sometimes. The Firkins are a franchise and some are bleh but this one is worthwhile!

A Design District lunch at Café Elte. The food is phenomenal! Now off to purchase a Canadian-made lighting fixture; thank you, D, for the home upgrades 💖

I just had a nice evening on the patio at Botham’s in Toronto Junction. Zucchini flowers on my wood fired pizza! They took over the space from an antique store that still had the original wiod stove; they kept the infrastructure for their kitchen, a rarity in this city nowadays ❤️‍🔥
