These are stationary joints, but if I were to do moving parts, I would do it in CAD for sure! I would suggest studying transformers, gunpla, BJDs-- anything with moving parts-- with a set of calipers. Once you build up a library of parts, it's much easier to engineer one to suit your needs

It’s now my brother’s birthday + he graduated today! Woohoo!
