An almost entirely fictional Fb nostalgia post purporting to list the 15 films broadcast in BBC2’s early Tuesday evening SF film festival from January 11th to April 19th 1983, complete with five movies which weren’t in the run including two post watershed perennials and one held att by ITV, five missing, the remaining ten in largely the wrong order and claims that the BW and colour films were all in BW and shown in a uniform time slot (they weren’t). Topped off with false anecdotal text and the statement that AI generated the image.

Checked against the BBC Genome after my own memories of watching the season suggested I smelt rat’s bollo.

Managed to get the very last ticket in the entire world for Warriors of the Deep at NFT1.

Peter Davison is forcibly made to sit between Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton at NFT1 today. The Fifth Doctor rendered impressively for the cover of the season 21 Blu-ray set on the big screen behind them looks on gravely.

He didn’t know for certain, and like the mystery spread before him, this fact made him exasperated as he pondered it all in his light grey-brown greatcoat, neatly pressed white shirt and dark blue tie, immaculate and troubled.

What was your #childhoodcinema The ABC Grimsby, formerly the Regal, refurbished and renamed 1967, closed 2004, now derelict. The entire block is probably haunted by the sound of audiences jumping at Jaws, laughing at Bond’s parachute, booing at Vader’s entrance etc etc. Shot taken summer 2022, PM.
