The History Dept is excited to invite our Y9 & Y10 students to take part in The Great Debate 2027, a national public speaking competition organised by the Historical Association. This year's question asks: "How does your local environment help us to understand national and global histories?"
What a fantastic rounders game in the sunshine for the Staff V Year 7 rounders match! A huge well done to everyone who took part.The staff team came away with a 5½–1½ victory over the pupils after a great game played in brilliant spirits. Thank you to the staff and pupils who took part!
Our Y6 students complete their 3 days of transition with an uplifting assembly. Friendships have been made and confidence has grown in readiness for September. We are proud of them all for making that big step into secondary school.
Some of the Y6 students here on their transition days played in the annual Jack Chase Football tournament at Cansfield on Monday. It was really great to see some of the interactions between them as they represented their primary schools, and witness the new friendships already made! 😀
The History Dept is inviting Y7-8 students to take part in the 2026 Autumn Competition, "I Was There – The Battle of the Somme." To mark the 110th anniversary of the battle, create a historically accurate diary entry, poem or sketch from the perspective of someone involved.
Congrulations to Y9 students Tiana and Harriet who represented SEA at St John Rigby today in the Archdiocese Public Speaking competition. They both spoke brilliantly on the topic of the social media ban for under 14s. They produced well researched speeches and were simply BRILLIANT! Well done! 🎉👏

Y9 & Y10 pupils visited the Anderton Centre for their climate group rewards trip. Pupils have successfully planned our climate school switch off- tomorrow; looked into single use plastic; raised funds for foodbank appeals & pitched our new reuseable bottles ready for a future launch... coming soon!

Y9 students win "Team of the Year" title! Some of our Y9 boys are part of U14's Golborne Hawks team, who won this year's Warrington Division 1 League and were named Team of the Year by Golborne Sports Club. Many Congratulations to: Noah Richardson, Alfie Simm, Max Smith, Manny, Logan Welsh

Our Y10 GCSE students enjoyed a fabulous day out on their Geography Field trip yesterday, measuring sand dunes at Formby and then into Southport for an ice-cream and completing questionnaires. 😎🌞☀️🍦🏖️

The Youth Cadet Expedition provides young people with an excellent insight and engagement with the cadet services. the National Cadet Week in October next year. If you know a young person who is interested in this type of career, let them know to come along!
A big thank you to Mrs Easton for bringing in her dad’s MBE and letter from Queen Elizabeth II to share with our pupils. He received the award in the 1980s for services to education. Jacob is pictured showing the medal and letter as part of our learning about the Honours System.
Following the first round of the UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge, Adam was the only student in Y7 & 8 to qualify for the Kangaroo follow-on round. Adam went on to complete this challenging competition and achieved a phenomenal Gold award. Huge congratulations — we are incredibly proud of you
