The answer is surely in part: a contribution to and reinforcement of the hype that is structurally necessary for the investment cycles that keep the AI ecosystem afloat, despite the world-historical chasms between revenue and debt that characterize the economy and threaten its future viability. But I digress.

Now let's see if any of these exceptions apply to the people ICE has been arresting at immigration court: Disorderly conduct. Right. A real national security threat right there.

In their statement, the ICE spokesperson pointed to a conviction for trespassing on the part of the Dominican man and a 2025 conviction for disorderly conduct on the part of the Ecuadorian man.

There ARE exceptions to the "no detention in immigration court" order. They are extremely limited! - National Security Threat - Imminent threat of death/ physical hrm - Imminent threat of destroying evidence - Hot Pursuit (which is a specific, narrow legal standard)

Immigration court arrests allowed if "(1) it involves a national security threat, or (2) there is an
imminent risk of death, violence, or physical harm to any person, or (3) it
involves hot pursuit of an individual who poses a threat to public safety, or
(4) there is an imminent risk of destruction of evidence material to a
criminal case.

It took me over an *hour* to get into immigration court on Monday, given the size of the line. That's how many people they're summoning to court. And probably 60% of people aren't showing up and have no idea they were even summoned.

Sometimes - and it is rare - two athletes will get to the exact same height in qualifications, semifinals, and *finals.* The tiebreaker in that case is time. Except that last year, Chaeyun Seo and Erin McNeice tied in all three rounds, including on time.

Prospect park in the early summer is such a beautiful place. I saw so many dogs. Maybe sixty dogs? All were good dogs. 10/10, would recommend.

We took our cat to the vet yesterday, which he HATES (he's fine - wellness visit). For the rest of the afternoon and evening, Dorian would scream at us if we went more than five feet from him. Here I am, eating a snack in bed so he can nap.
