I love this really subtle bit of show-not-tell on the first page of Crimson Peak. I like that by explicitly telling you edith saw her mother's ghost, it does not have to say who is in the coffin.

This is a really good example of why you don't have anyone in a scene that doesn't need to be there. It's also a good example of extended thinking on Save the Cat's Don't Call The Press rule. Less people, more tension. Always.
