On this 410th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth/death, I’m happy to say I got to hang at his house last month for the first time. Nice digs. It’s also the anniversary of my defense of my graduate thesis in Early Modern English history, so appropriately good date all around.

This was written in the 1890s by an American academic. The human propensity for repetition is astounding. But then again, I’m a historian so it isn’t to me. Study the past and you’ll see we have limited range.
