31. Palworld 1.0 Its about the same spot where I originally reviewed it when it first dropped. Its still one of the most fun I had in a survival game, but on the other side of it, the plagiarized designs and tech issues leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Deeper dive into it in alt text. 3/5

Palworld is a game that feels really hard to talk about in general it feels. It’s a pretty interesting take on a survival game where you can catch creatures to help you with the more grindy process of survival games so you can focus on going out to explore to find more monsters and items. The idea works well, but it does come with its issues especially with my biggest one: the Pal designs.

This was a big problem when the game first released and it still is as blatant as before: too many early game Pals look like straight up copies of Pokemon designs. This isn’t a case of “inspiration” but copying a design all the way down to even the attacks a Pokemon does in detail. Theres a grass Pokemon who looked 1 to 1 to Cinderace originally before the design got changed in 1.0, however you can still see the design in it on top of it doing things Cinderace does like kick rocks as a soccer ball. Its a damn shame because later in the game, the original Pal designs stand out incredibly well and are some of my favorites! Even then, the monster taming/battle in this is arguably the weakest part of the game. Also if I can criticize Pokemon games for being ugly and running bad, Palworld deserves that too cause man, why is this game so intense while looking like that?

The good part about this game? There’s constant progression and things to do in this game. Upgrading your base rewards you, getting materials to unlock higher tier crafting, even exploring to find new Pals are all ways this game makes it feel rewarding to return to. It’s what kept me coming back despite my issues with one half of the game. There’s also a nice bit of endgame related stuff to do too.

Overall, Palworlds a mixed bag for me and hard to talk about with the stink around it. On one side, its one of the most fun survival games I played since Minecraft. On the other hand, the plagiarized designs leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Its a really fun game held by some issues outside of stuff I said here. 3/5

Some dumb FE rambling from me: Very curious about the big tech stuff we are seeing in the new snippets. In the new one, theyre fighting actual holograms of enemies with the cast appearing on two different maps that has things like piping and even machines with swords for their hands.

30. The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Alt text for thoughts cause of text limit - tldr, I like this game! I liked exploring and finding secrets, some of the bosses were cool, and while the story starts off slow, it really ends strongly. 4/5

Adventures of Elliot is a pretty cool game at times. It wears it's Zelda inspirations on its chest, but I think that's what makes this game pretty fun. Some of the dungeons and shrines have fun puzzles that have a lot of creative ideas for it especially ones that use your fairy companion to get around. I would say it stinks that there isn't as many or as in depth as its inspiration, but I think the ones you'll find are quite fun.

Like the past Zeldas, adventuring is pretty fun. Looking for secrets, such as weapon upgrades or heart containers, to be an enjoyable time as it's quite rewarding. It rewards exploration in a way that made me revisit the same areas in different time periods constantly. However, the biggest stinker to me is the map design. While it's fine at first, all the time periods have the exactly same map with the same stuff everywhere. While some things change depending on the time period, some dungeons just constantly kept the same with no change and a very basic reward for it. imo, this is the weakest part of the game for me because I quite like exploring in this game, it's just a shame everything feels too similar. You would see the same looking bosses quite often too, although by the end, they gotten more creative and unique.

As for story, it starts off weak for most of it. However, by the end of the game, the story picks up with some things that surprised me pleasantly and the true ending was one of my favorite in recent history. The characters are a little too "plain" compared to previous Asano games, but there's some I enjoyed up liking.

While Elliot has some repetitiveness to it, I ended up enjoying it a lot especially as I got further into the game. It carries the spirit of a Zelda game and I can see a bright future if Square makes this into a series! 4/5

Yep, love the fighting game grind again 👍 Duo queueing has been fun with friends, its been reigniting that enjoyment in the genre for me once again. Also helps when you finally have a team you enjoy playing and learning, which held the game back for me majorly

29. Dark Deity I just couldn't get into it sadly. Felt like a weak fan game of FE without a lil bit of sauce to spice it up. Maybe the nicest thing I can say is I like some of the character designs at least. 2/5

Wrote a lil bit about the final showcase, the Nintendo direct! Lots of bias, but obviously my favorite, but a lil bit hard not to when you get fucking Xenoblade, Fire Emblem and more in one showcase. Next year has potential to be another amazing year for RPGs.

28. The Academy's Genius Tamer It said main story finished, idk if its really finished, but I might just wrap it up here. It's very meh. At times, it can be enjoyable but it has very weird pacing and weird moments. It has its moments, its just a shame the pacing holds it back. 3/5

27. Vampire Savior: The Lord of the Vampire I love VSav lmao, its a fun game to watch and play. After CB and Evo, got inspiration to pick it up and play it. I love it! Lilith is very fun and I love the character designs a lot. Just a fun classic, want to add to my rotation. 4.5/5
