Calling it for the year and heading home. Time, money, summer heat, a string of bad luck, general physical deterioration, business concerns, and sheer exhaustion have won. We hiked about 650 miles, saw a lot of amazing things, met a lot of wonderful people, and successfully lived in the woods for 3 months. It's been a wild ride and so different than I expected outside of the hiking and camping aspects.With any luck, Candyman & I will return for another 2-3 month adventure next year and keep heading north from where we left the AT. Until then 🖤 -Frankenstein

I'm tired, man. Tired like you wouldn't believe

Today's suffering is that we tried to stay at a motel to escape the heat for a bit, and,, even though we were told this is the better of the two options in town.. around 11pm, bedbugs emerged 😭There's not even anyone available to contact about it and of course we don't have a car to go anywhere else, so,, we just grabbed everything and set up the tent in a patch of grass by the motel 😭😭 Worst night yet since starting the hike, and that's really saying something. So tired. Send help 😭😭😭

Update that we survived and were able to get to town. Got a new tent (and new shoes because mine were toast & starting to cause some weird toe/foot pain) plus all kinds of help and a place to stay from two kind souls (a shuttle driver & a hostel owner, both prior thru hikers). Still a big big money suck yesterday, but things worked out much better than I could have hoped! The sale is also going pretty alright so that is very much appreciated as well.

So,, we're having A Day

Hello everyone, no joke- so right after getting the sale set up earlier today while sitting at a diner for breakfast, my hiking partner's tent poles literally exploded 😭 like to shreds. Now we're very unexpectedly having to backtrack 30 miles to the nearest outfitter, and it's gonna mean also unexpectedly spending a lot of $$$ on a shuttle, big money on a new tent, somewhere to stay in town, a shuttle back to where we need to be to keep hiking, etc..With that in mind, uhh,,No better time than now to take advantage of 20% off all things black in the shop! (ₗₘₐₒ ₕₑₗₚ)I'm gonna be putting funds straight towards this whole situation right away 😅 we share a tent so I'm hoping to contribute half of whatever it ends up costing. I'm in town and i have my laptop! wow! updating things not on a phone is so much easier and more possible!

-June Preorders are in the process of being closed right now, but I won't be mad if y'all try to sneak a few last minute ones in before ya can't
